This reminds me of the lock ups for Baseball 2k6, and having to clear the cache, etc. Still so far so good for me. Maybe its cause i pre ordered it....
of course now i just fucked up my save. Great game, horrible save system. I just wasted a few hours, after I died, i chose whatever option it gives you, to save and go back to title (since i was done playing, and had already saved in the bathroom earlier) now I'm back at New Game. geez. |

Poor Japanese tourists... |
I picked it up at Best Buy this afternoon. They had 25+ copies that I could see and I didn't have to to endure a pre-order sermon.
I'm not too thrilled with it so far. I kinda wish I had just stuck with the demo. Arrrgh, the cut scenes! I got to the first boss fight and I'm hating the fact that I have to use first person mode. This control scheme BLOWS for first person shooting. Maybe it will get better. I just wanna kill zombies. No lockups so far. What's the secret to getting the saves right? I haven't saved other than the very first save opportunity early in the game. |
Use the bathrooms to save.
I'm enjoying this quite a bit. The photo system can be a little weird sometimes, but for the most part, this game is a lot of fun. |
The save system in this game is pretty shitty. Getting back to the security room is a pain in the ass.
I ended up losing a great deal of progress because I ventured pretty far out, got stuck in a boss battle and then had to make my way back to save. :( So far I've had no problem with the game locking up or any other issues. I'm in the process now of figuring out what to do if your camera in the game runs out of battery power. Not sure where the hell I get batteries and I think running all over the place in the game looking fr a solution would be deadly so I'd rather look online. |

I had the same save problem, I died in the first boss fight (I got bored and pretty much let him kill me, god the boss battle BLOWS). Now I'm back at the beginning and I really don't want to work my way back to the shitty boss battle. The crazy guy with the machine gun can HAVE the fucking food court. I just want to mow down zombies. |
in the demo I found batteries in the music store
|
Again, you can save in bathrooms along the way. Just don't forget.
|
I'd just like to say to everyone here, don't just play the demo and think that's enough, and that there's no reason to buy the game. There is a lot more to this game than what you see in the demo, way more. Even the simple act of killing zombie after zombie is far different in the full game, and it's a lot more tense and entertaining.

Mine gave me the red rings about 10 minutes after that screenshot. Then promptly died completely minutes later. |
Finding the batteries was pretty easier. As stated they are just to the right as you exit the warehouse.
The lunatics in the courtyard are busting my balls. I tried taking a propane tank out there to help me but I got mowed down. I think I might try and avoid them until daylight and then the zombies will be less aggressive and that might make things easier on me. |

Both disc games and arcade games. No problems at all. I haven't had the courage to fire up Dead Rising again. I don't need anymore stress tonight. So, I am the only one here that has had any freezing problems so far? The gamefaqs messageboards are full of people with the same problem. Everyone has their own crazy ideas of how to fix the glitch. I will patienty wait until Capcom makes an announcment about the issue(hopefully). Wasn't there a baseball game that came out a few months ago with a similar freezing issue? How long did that take to get resolved? :johnwoo: Capcom |
Are you talking about the guys in the jeep?
|
Leechboy,
Question. Is that screen you posted before also accompanied by a loud ringing sound every time it freezes up? I only ask because that is what mine did. I'm trying to determine if you are headed towards the red ring of death, or have a different problem that is hopefully fixed with a patch or something. I hope it's the latter. |

Check out the movie theater. In each theater there are some cool items. In one of them there are a few paintings. I hit a zombie with it, and the paper broke over their head, and it ended up around their body keeping their arms to the side.

Ah, the stun gun is in one of the theaters also. :)

I like those little self-references that Capcom stuck in there. One of the restaurants is called Jill's Sandwiches. :D |
Spoiler:
Even with all of that though, I do believe I totally screwed up. Out of nowhere my cases showed up on the screen, and they all went red saying I failed them, and the game was over. It asked if I wanted to continue, save and continue, or load, and I foolishly (I believe it was foolish, so correct me if I'm wrong) picked to continue. Does this mean that I can't actually beat the game now? |
