no trade 2 for 1 at gamestop...

By trading in GRAW and Table Tennis at EB I was able to get about about $60 in credit. They are giving an extra 10% credit if you use your credit towards preorders.

I finally found the katana, and I can't kill enough with it!

Do most of you guys think it's worth paying full price for this game? I'm just wondering what sort of replay value it really has.
I read that it's got some unlockable modes, but I typically don't buy a game unless it has a multiplayer aspect. |
I'll be there as soon as the stores open for my copy. I havde no idea what kind of gams you like, but I would suggest reading through some of the reviews posted earlier to see if it's worth buying for you.

I'm really tempted by the hype (and I have yet to play the demo, so that may sway me), but I think I'll pass, even at the $50 discount Fry's will have it at (man, $50 is the sale price now).
However, if it had split-screen multiplayer... |
IGN - 8.3
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/723/723910p1.html Closing Comments Though Dead Rising may seem like a simple, mindless game when you first pick it up, it eventually reveals itself as a deeper experience. Tons of extras are packed into Willamette's shops, there are magazine power-ups and special drink mixes to be brewed, lots of clothing combinations, countless pictures to be taken and plenty of NPCs to be saved. The game provides an incentive for every aspect, making each worth pursuing. It's a game that somehow remains cohesive despite having so many seemingly unrelated aspects. The save system means you're going to be playing through the 72 Hour and Overtime modes multiple times, but at least along the way you'll level up, get the best ending, nab more achievements, and get better scores on the Xbox Live leaderboards. With a better save system, more intelligent NPCs, a more forgiving story progression, and tighter controls, Dead Rising could have been even more fun than it already is. Even despite those issues, after several times through it's impossible to deny the appeal inherent in slaughtering Willamette's zombified shoppers. Now if only there was a cooperative mode. We suppose we'll have to wait for the sequel, if Capcom decides to make one. As it stands, Dead Rising is one of the more unique and entertaining titles on the Xbox 360. |

Anyone yet know if Gamestop or EB world will have this today?
|
And overall, there's just been fewer games reviewed lately on both IGN and Gamespot. But hey, if people want to hunt out conspiracy theories, more power to them. |

The clone at Gamestop told me it would be in tomorrow at 1:00pm or so. He also said the only way he'd guarantee me a copy is if I pre-ordered it. Im thinking that the damn game comes out tomorrow and NOW I might not get a copy??? I laughed and told him 'no thanks'. What a dickhead.

Everytime ive asked them about a game, they say the same thing to me. Pre-order guarantees you a game. Though, pre-ordering didnt work when the 360 came out. ;) |
Can't wait to get this.
|
I called GameStop and asked if they got it in...of course, they said, nope, tomorrow and asked if I had pre-ordered it otherwise, they might not get enough.
|
Pre-ordering is so rediculous, I've been buying games for over 10 years, and I cant recall one time I have not been able to find a game on release day.
This includes both Halo's and all GTA's. Each time I walked into EB or gamestop and picked up my copy. |
Yep, and they are even easier to find in the big box stores, though you have to wait a day or two longer.
|
Well, I did get a free t-shirt for my preorder at EB. At least it's something, and I was going to buy it anyway.
|
Don't even get me started on all that "pre-order or you won't get it BS". I just lost it on the Xbox forums on a employee who was trying to push that garbage. Anyway looks like the game is streeting tomorrow. I drove all around town today like and asshole and every store said they can't put it out till the 9th even though they had it in the back. Arghhhh! I guess I just don't get videogame street dates. So it is released on one day but you can't buy it until the next??? Have they always been out Wednesday? I thought all media stuff was always released on Tuesday. Movies and CDs are.
|
So is this a worthy blind buy? Sounds like mindless fun, that you can play in shorter spurts. I'm considering picking it up, especially since it appears to be a bit deeper in gameplay than the previews made it out to be.

I've been playing the demo, and my question is...how do you you heal? In the trailer, he opens orange juice & guzzles it down, but I can only use it as a weapon. Anyone know how to eat/drink??
