Dead Rising for 360?

The beauty of some of these achievements is that they actually require a bit of planning and strategy. I posted some strategies for some of them earlier in this thread. In some ways this game has an old-school mentality where it's about the gameplay and how you play versus strictly trying to beat it.

Yep, kudos to Capcom for getting the achievements system down right. I can't believe I pretty much have to replay the entire game through to get some of these achievements that are worth a measly 20 points, but hell I'm still having fun doing it
Definitely some skill and planning required, as I'm learning. Just 100 to go!
Got all the survivors from Cop Jo with this new restart. You guys were right about the eight survivor limit (damn you, empty store survivors).

Dead Rising is my #1 when it comes to Achievements. They nailed it. I love the fact that they are all worth the same. Some hard, some easy, some fun, etc. Nice variety and none are weighted more than the others. Not everyone wants to wade through an impossible mode just for some lousy points and not only did they avoid that they found a fun way around it.
Viva Pinata has the same system, but the actual achievements are pretty boring.

Just got The Saint achievement and near the end I was surprised to get the Notebook and Transmisionary achievements as well
I was expecting to have to play through again to get Transmissionary, since I read about you missing a lot of calls if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just have to get Clothes Horse now, before the two survival ones.

Question on Clothes Horse then. I find plenty of lists that show the stores you have to go to, but it seems there are more then one type of costume/shoe/hat in a lot of them. Do I have to change into EVERY one of those items or just one from each store? Plus I found a whole bunch of bags opposite Otis in the shaft room, which I'm assuming are the costumes the game gives you after you finish it. Do those count as well?

Go to http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox...me/928326.html and click the Clothing Guide link.
I just printed it out and checked off items as I went down the list. If you use that list and go in order, you can skip items that are not marked with a *. So to answer your question - you only need to try on each unique clothing item once. For example, if you tried on the Silver Sunglasses in Store A, you can skip them if you see them again in Store B.

Thanks UncleGramps, that was the exact type of list I was looking for and much better than the other ones I found. I will give that a shot.
Just a note that your link does not work, but I found it by searching once I got the Gamefaqs error screen. Looks like they don't allow direct linking.

Thanks again. The list worked great. About half way through I got the achievement, since it was cumulative as Michael mentioned. No way would I have found that horse's head in the back room of the Toy Shop or the barefoot switch in the lake without the list.
Anyway, looks like I'm gonna stop at 960pts. After reading up on the survival achievements, there is no way I'm gonna leave my Xbox running for 14 hours straight, much less having to monitor it for all that time, since you just can't hide someplace without starving. Kudos to whoever has 1000 on this. You certainly deserve it!

This game is still sitting on my couch. I gotta screw up the courage and patience to try it again.

Yeah, I hear you. Once you level up you'll get more into it. Sometimes you gotta step back for a little while. Before I picked up Dead Rising again, I had just finished COD3 single player or Normal, but I'm gonna have to cycle through some other games before I try that one on Veteran again.

Holy shit, this game is awesome. Started it for the first time last night.
Is there any way to save the survivors in the opening scene when the zombies storm the mall? (When the woman tries to get her dog back)
Otherwise, it's kinda tough so far. I've restarted twice.

Nope, no way to save them. One of them was carrying a shotgun. Did you pick up his shotgun after he died? It will make things easier.
Here are a couple more early powerful weapons to make things easier too:
Once you get out of the security room and into the mall itself, look above you and you will see a blue awning. Keep going to the left until you get to the first staircase. Go half way up the stairs and you will be able to jump and pull yourself on top of the blue awning. Backtrack back to where you started from while jumping from awning to awning. You will find a stash of some crap and also a submachine gun.
The second powerful weapon is easier to get. Go up to the second floor and you will see a restaurant called Colombian Roastmasters. Look over the side of the restaurant by the juice storage cart. You will see a blue awning. Jump over the railing and there will be a katana on the blue awning. This katana will really slice and dice the zombies.
Both of these weapons, as well as any weapon in the game, respawn so you can keep coming back to get replacements.

Yeah. You are too early in the game to worry about the books. As you level up, more inventory slots will open up allowing you to carry more.

The indoor/outdoor are actually two I haven't gotten yet. Supposedly there is a glitch to get the indoor. Go for the outdoor and start the game at the beginning. Hang out on the roof to get that achievement and, from what I've read, if you go inside directly after it gives you the indoor one.
I've never tried it though.

Don't you have to be inside/outside for a continous 24 hours?

I've never tried it though.I just started a new game, so I guess I'll have to do it the hard way. I figured that about PP, so I strted that as soon as I began my new game.
