Suggestion: let's leave this thread for discussion, and compile the friend codes in a separate thread so their easier to find.

My friend code is: 4854-6106-9450

I've only tried a couple times online, but I was only able to connect once. Every other time it would say I dropped my connection. Anyone else experiencing this?

I picked it up this morning and played it for a couple of hours this afternoon. It's a phenomenal game and I'm really glad I picked it up. I didn't really like the other two (I got bored of them quickly because I'm not a fan of fighting games,) but this one has kept me enthralled. I want to go play some more, but I have to do a website for class.

I tried going online a couple of times, but every lobby I went into remained empty until the timer expired. I guess the servers are full/problematic.

This game can cause a error that will require you to send back your Wii if it was one of the early batches. I have also seen reports of people fixing the problem by resetting their machine. The error is caused during the forced update. You might want to try updating your wii before trying this game, but I'm not sure if that will help.

one good thing about the friends thing is if you're playing with friends of friends, you can request to get them added to your list automagically...

Still playing after ten hours. Some quick thoughts:

I like playing with the gamecube controller. Haven't tried the Wii-mote yet or the classic controller.

Still trying to find an accurate list too on how to unlock all the characters. The one on gamefaqs.com seem to be wrong. Since I unlocked Sonic sooner than they stated.

Also we played online with some friends in California in the afternoon and it played very quick with no lag. I tried again tonight and it was slow as sh!t. Lot of lag.

I played and still play the N64 version all the time. Did not like the Gamecube version.

Final verdict so far on the Wii version: I absolutely love it!

You people are going to make me get this and Zak and Wiki for $65 if you keep praising it this way....

Is there a steep learning curve for this game? I suck at fighting games

This is the first of the series I played and I was awful when I got home and tried it last night. Then tonight I opened the instructions, went into training mode and practiced a bit. The hardest part is the novice players will likely resort to button mashing when the combat gets really crazy. It'll be hard to not only learn how to do moves but how to also use them properly when getting smacked around by 3 other characters on screen. Do you have any other people to play with locally? If not I will be glad to add you if you should get the game because it'll be safer for the both of us to start out slow.

I should also admit that as much as I enjoy the game it may be based on the fact that I took advantage of the trade-in deal at GameStop. Hard to not like a game that was less than 7.00 out of pocket.

But to be honest I was pretty amazed that a fighting game had so much to it. I already have a call out to some local friends and they are dying to come over and check it out.

Yeah, being a beginner at this game, I end up doing more "button-mashing" at first but Ive been getting the moves down more and more now. Still have a hard time with jumping, especially when trying to break the targets, but the campaign mode (cant think of what its called right now) helps with learning the moves more.

I noticed a lot of the unlockable characters say stuff like "fight x # of brawls (or VS)". Does anyone know what qualifies for a "Brawl"? Just off-line Group modes? Does anything Solo or Wifi count?

Also, did anyone get the Strategy guide? any good?

I ended up not biting. Got Wiki for $24 shipped new (finally found a bunch when I started spelling it Zack instead of Zak). It would have been $70 after tax for both so that leaves me with $46 if I ever do decide to pick it up. But I'm really thinking I'm going to pass because it's the same theory as Halo and all I do in Halo is get killed, which is no fun. I prefer my puzzle games So I think Wiki is it for now.

i got my copy and after wrestling with the 'unable to read disc' error, i finally got to play for an hour. after a break though, it was back to error only. i got tired of messing with it and am sending it in for repair.

i bought my system at launch and this has been the only problem i've had. hopefully, i'll get it back quickly so i can get in on some online brawl

to everyone without problems, enjoy!
