I picked up the regular edition yesterday, and then decided to try the demo (I have parts for a new PC but still need more) on my current rig. I knew I wanted C&C but was unsure how it would run on my current system, since the specs weren't too high I decided to try the demo first. It runs okay, most of the 'frills' turned to low or medium, but I played the tutorial and a skirmish (which took me way too long to beat) that were fine.

I haven't opened the regular one yet, and I'm seriously thinking about returning it and going with the Kane edition. The DVD behind the sceens stuff doesn't do much for me so I would be paying $10 for 5 extra MP maps, and unit skins.

Yeah, I'm wondering how well it will run with my current system. I know Generals needed a heavy duty rig and video card to go full graphics back in 2003, but my 2005 build 3.2 P4, 2GB RAM and Nvidia 6800 handled it on full like it was child's play. I don't think that will be the case now. This is about the only PC game I play (more of a console gamer), but I don't really feel like upgrading again, and I don't see how controlling units on the 360 could give you any semblence of control compared to a mouse and hotkeys.

I'll probably just bite the $10 and pickup the Kane edition, since you just reminded me about the extra maps. The making of stuff does nothing for me either (unless they got Kari Wuhrer back for the cut scenes )

That should be fine my current rig that I ran the demo on is P4 2.4, 512MB, NVidia 5900SE. Now if I ever get some new ram my new rig will be E6600 2.4, 2GB RAM, Evga 8800GTS on a Evga 680i SLI board.

Anyone playing this game. I've been playing it on the 360 and I'm stuck on a GDI mission. It's the one where
Spoiler:
you're in Croatia, you have to survive until backup arrives, then help them and get back to build a base.
I've tried it 4-5 times already and I always get destroyed. Any tips?
