ok! My car was fixed today and even though i'm out a million dollars in repairs I could go on my DS Lite search. Well I went to 4 targets near me, only one (the first I went to) had that little yellow price tag in the case that said "DS Lite" but there were none to be found. I asked the guy and he walked back to it with me and said they must be sold out. He looked rather puzzled though and stared at it for awhile. I think he had no idea they started selling them already and wanted one for himself. Nothing at the other 3 targets. Guess I'll have to end up waiting till the 11th.....shit...

Brought my DS Lite yesterday from Target. I really didn't want to get anyone in trouble so I made the electronics manager know he was breaking street date. He said they got no hold date with them so he can put them out...my kind of manager He doesn't care...neither do I For those that want to pick one up in the dc area:

Target in Forestville, MD (301) 778-1652
Had about 20 of them after I brought mine.

Oh and the screen is pretty sweet

I hope they're not all like that. I was planning on getting one of these at some point, but I had the same problem with my GBA SP with the brighter screen - It's difficult to do precision moves. It's very hard to just press up, down, left or right without it registering an additional direction press. I'm not willing to sacrifice controller quality for a brighter screen again.

Are there any hack and slash style games on the DS yet or am I going to have to wait for Dynasty Warriors DS and Children of Mana?

Thanks. Picked it up. Was actually $7.50. The clerk said he loved the game and was definitely worth the price as well.

Are there any comparison pics of the black and white DS Lite out yet? Can't decide which to get.

Here's the full address Outlaw.

3101 Donnell Dr
District Heights, MD 20747-3204

It's a little far for me to go just to look for a DS (about 30 minutes) but I'll check at the local target here in Wheaton in a bit as I need to pick up a few things anyway.

Was bored adn needed a break from studyig so decided to check a few local targets, no luck at 3 targets (Wheaton, Forestville and Greenbelt MD).

Guess they sold out in Forrestville (weren't even any regular DS left). Didn't look like they had put out the Lite's at the other two, but no one in electronics to ask.

From reports on other forums looks like it's ringing up as "Do Not Sell" at wal-mart now and some targets have pulled them from shelves.

Oh well, only a week until the street date anyway.

Also, Sears removed it from their website after some people successfully ordered online and did in-store pickup.

thanks for the address and also for checking Josh, I am visiting my friend downtown but was trying to figure out how to schedule getting to this target in the meantime (without letting them know). The Rockville Target was sold out (looks like they had them). The gaithersburg and germantown ones didn't have it at all (I also checked the walmart across from it). Guess I'll just wait it out....

Yep, I just stopped by the Rockville one as I met a friend for a late lunch/early dinner right beside that target. Tag on the case for the Lite but none on the shelf. Clerk said they had them in but had sold out.

Oh well, will just make the rounds next Sunday morning if I don't talk myself out of buying one again. I keep flip flopping on it as I can't really afford it at the moment.

Damn, sorry guys. I'm now wondering did they pull them. I've never had a problem buying nintendo stuff there. They had quite a few in the display case, maybe people hit them up quick. I know when I went by Springfield (reported on CAG) the day before they told me they were all out.

Well this could suck for those possibly seeing it in the ad for Sunday and showing up when they open only to not find one because they sold out 10 days prior.

The reviews of both Big Brain Academy and Magnetica are very encouraging. I had no idea Magnetica was the true sequel to Puzz Loop and that Zuma was the rip off version. Without Zuma I would have never even heard of this type of puzzle game.

However, Magnetica is overpriced at $34.99. CC has it for $28.99 next week and I will wait to get it then or just wait for a price drop. Big Brain is a must buy though at $20 and I will grab it whenever my DS Lite comes in.

Wait..what... did someone say Zuma? I am a complete Zuma whore. Which game is similar to it? Magnetica or Puzz Loop? How similar are they compared to Zuma?

A portable Zuma would kick all kinds of ass.

Puzz Loop is an arcade game that came out in 1998 (or around there) and Magnetica is a direct sequel to that game. Mitchell I believe developed both the arcade game and this DS version. Zuma is a direct clone of Puzz Loop so if you love Zuma (I really like it and play it on my Palm OS PDA) you should enjoy this game.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely look into those. Does they incorporate the touch screen at all?
