From: Work. Or commuting. Certainly not at home.
Can someone explain to me (I'm sure it's in one of these AC:WW threads, but humor me) how to open the town, how to get to someone else's town, how to get on the Nintendo WiFi in the first place?
I recently re-started my town after a few months not playing (I like it a lot better now that I have the DS Lite) and finally want to start getting out and about.... thanks for any assitance you can give me.

First, go up to your gates and talk to Copper on the right.
Second, follow his instructions and once you are able to connect to the WiFi, you will be assigned a Friend Code.
Third, post your friend code for us, and add regulars who post in this thread.
Once we each have our friend codes entered, just come back here and let everyone know you are opening your town (by talking to copper again) or visit other towns if they have theirs open.

Long time lurker . . .
I've been meaning to post a reply here with all my friend information, but just never seem to get around to it.
I REALLY meant to when my Nook was offering 491 bells for turnips last Saturday, but never did.
And now, tonight, I must - he's offering 545 bells - I know it's VERY short notice (an hour left but still . . .)
Name: Jason
Town: Plankton

Well today I learned that when dealing with the Lost Kitten, the mother doesn't have to PHYSICALLY be in the town that the lost Kitten says she is in. The mother wasn't in my town even though the kitten said that was where she lost her. My cousin brought the lost kitten to my town and the mother magically appeared at the gate. :-)

Okay everyone. Thanks to all who visited CapHill and made some great exchanges/item updates. I am going to be on vacation for the next two weeks starting on Sunday. The beach house I'm in has wireless, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get my DS online while there. So please stop by and touch what you need to touch. I will be cleaning up the town while I'm gone and trying to get some feng shui going in my house.
Thanks again for making Cap Hill such a tourist attraction!

Finally got the golden fishing rod last night. Just needed that blasted shark. All I need to do now is get 3 bugs and my museum will be complete. Course, the one I need are the fly (easy), the scarab beetle (missed it this year) and the giant beetle (missed this one too). Looks like I'll be playing for another year.

Thinking about it. But I can work on meeting other goals in the town for the next year (boondox, golden watering can) so I might just wait it out. Caught the fly this morning so all I need now are the two I've already missed.

I didn't. Guess I played too late.
Can someone tell me what's the deal with the pitfall seed? They seem to serve no purpose and are annoying to boot. Also do players collect those clankiod things? They're irritating and ugly to me so I just sell them to Nook. Should I be keeping them?

Donation Special Gift
10,000 bells Green Feather
200,000 bells Blue Feather
500,000 bells Yellow Feather
800,000 bells Red Feather
1,000,000 bells Purple Feather
1,400,000 bells White Feather
6,400,000 bells Rainbow Feather
I'm kinda cheap with this, so I've only obtained the green and blue feathers.

The highest price my Nook was buying for last week was 166, I sold the ones lying around the floor of my house for the small profit because they were going to spoil. I still have tons on top of tables.

I bought Animal Crossing on Sunday and I have become hopelessly addicted to it. I've spent pretty much all my time fishing since there doesn't seem to be much else to do when you first start.
I've added several people from the latest posts into my friends list. If anyone else wants to be added let me know.
Added:
glasschicken
jediwicz
BeanDip0001
Decker
HotThang
DVDChris
scoot0903
aliciaelena
rfduncan
My info:
Name: Hector
Town: SnowHill
Code: 1031-5789-0685
Is anyone going to be on tonight? I was hoping someone would have a shovel and a watering can for sale in their shop. Even if I could put them in my pocket to add them to my catalog I'd be happy.
Also, is there something special to catching a shark? I've had the chance twice and missed it both times.
