I couldn't download the OUTFIT demo. I let it run for 3+ hours and it got around 80%. I tried to stop and start...wrong choice. I actually let my XBO run over night and use AUTO_OFFfeature. Hopefully it worked. I still think I'll like this game....
It seems everything in THE MARKETPLACE is slow, I tried the Burnout Trailer...it took forever. I went to the XBOX Arcade, d/l fine.

It took me about 20 mins as well to download the demo. You are limited to playing one map, one type of game and online. The campaign mode you can't play in the demo.
I didn't like the game at all. I thought it was going to be another WWII type FPS game. It has elements of that, but its more like an RTS game where you have to overtake an enemy base before they take over yours.
It seemed slow in the response times and hard to get a sense of what was going on.
I played one game, and managed to win not knowing really how I did.
I quit out and deleted the rubbish from my HD.

I wonder if it's an XBOX issue or a locale issue for D/L things. Not sure why it would take some 3+ hours, and other 15 minutes. MY D/L time was great as I tested the connection....just weird. I hope my new 360 does not have any bugs.....

It might just be due to many people trying to D/L at the same time. It is a new demo available. Maybe I downloaded when not many were trying, it was around 5pm EST. Dinner time on the east coast, and still school/work time on the west coast.

The demo took hours to download. What's funny is that I've downloaded from Microsoft at the absolute max for my connection: a bit under to 1MB/s.
I played one game, died, and then quit. If there was a tutorial I didn't see it.

The Outfit is an excellent game, if you know how to play. I hated it for the first few rounds as well when I treated it as a shooter. After countless deaths, I finally figured out how to control my squad and use air support effectively. Laying down a few turrets for defense of a chokepoint and assualting with vehicular support is a recipe for success.
Releasing a multiplayer demo without any tutorial on how to surmount the steep learning curve is ridiculous. THQ willl kill the sales of thier game with this demo.

I played it (the outfit) a little yesterday, and while it's a little fun it just doesn't play like a next gen game. I think I'll pass, it's just not my type of game.

lol.. yeah.. sorry about that Lucky. You were my one game and after a little bit I figured out what to do. Taking over your buildings and the neutral ones at the start. As well as figuring out how to do an airstrike and drop in a tank.
But still, I didn't enjoy the game at all, so it will get a pass.
Which is a good thing as this is an expensive month for games. Burnout, Ghost Recon and Oblivion.

I agree with Flay. I jsut played my first game and I didn't know what I was doing. I just ran around and kept killing the other team and trying to take each area. I didn't figure out the air support or tanks or anything though. I think it is a pretty good looking strategy game, but not having the tutorial is going to kill this game. I bet most people who download the demo will think this is a crappy shooter, when it looks like a good strategy game with shooting. I'll prolly pick it up when it is cheaper though, I don't know if it is worth $60.

Edit: Just got it to work! My mistake was that I created logical as opposed to primary partitions. I also created two FAT32 partitions and then merged them into 1, so now the entire drive is one large FAT32 partition.

I played a couple rounds last night, and thanks to others thinking it was a shooter, managed to win both

Microsoft reaches patent milestone

Xbox 360 'spectator' technology results in 5000th patent
Microsoft has been granted its 5000th US patent for a new technology, specially designed for inclusion in Xbox 360 games, that will enable people from around the globe to join online games as spectator.
The milestone patent relates to a host of technologies that mirror the experience of viewing a sporting event broadcast, enabling people to tune in to online videogames and enjoy the gaming experience in real-time as a spectator rather than a player.
Featuring highlights, instant replays, and unique spectator controlled views of the action within a game or event, the technology enables the viewer to control one or more virtual cameras to select desired viewpoints, or an automated camera control to frame the action and perform specific cuts to best convey the story and action.
The patent also covers a portal such as a website to access spectator-related services such as schedules and information on multiple games and events, as well as the number of spectators and participants in each. The portal allows the spectator to find the most popular games to watch, preview the action, and then connect directly in real-time. Microsoft has stated that the technology will be featured in Xbox 360 games, bringing an additional online experience to its increasingly popular Xbox Live online gaming service.
Brad Smith, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Microsoft, commented: "The 5000th patent is a marker of the progress we have made in the past few years - building a high-quality, innovative and industry-recognized portfolio. Through patents, we are able to license our technologies widely to others in the industry, increasing the availability of our innovations and getting beneficial solutions in the hands of customers."
Microsoft is committed to achieving its goal of filing for 3000 patents each year, which is consistent with the average for IT companies of filing for two patents for every USD 1 million spent in research and development, according to a study by the National Research Council of the National Academies.

MS should concentrate on getting servers working correctly before they do this other stuff. NO Download should take 3+ hours for me to download. I mean, dialup was faster back in the day.

Anyhow you should have been able to format that entire drive under a single partition.
Did your friend have any problem getting the xbox to recognize the drive?
