I was wholly unimpressed with the Full Auto demo, just wasn't fun to me.
I got COD2 today from Gamefly and so far I'm enjoying it but it's impossible to find multiplayer matches. I managed to join one team game and of course I selected "auto assign" and it put me on the Axis side and no one else would play on my team so I left. They really should enforce an auto assign feature. |
Ugh, yeah, that Full Auto demo is absolute crap to me. I went from "slight interest" to "don't waste my time" after playing that demo.
Next please. :) |

Well damn, I need to d/l it. Doesn't sound good. People over at the xbox forums are drooling all over it. I respect opinions here quite a bit more than the kiddie fest that goes on there. I even let a friend talk me into buying it because he liked the demo. Hmmm. Have to check it out.

I have the OXM demo and it grew on me. I have the game pre-ordered at GR, so I'll be getting it.
|
I downloaded it last night but didn't get a chance to play yet. I was on the fence between getting this or waiting for Burnout and I gave in and pre-ordered, the faceplate sold me. So I hope, even if it is rough, the demo is decent.

I was thinking that this game would be more like Twisted Metal, but it's not. It's seems closer to Crazy Taxi (tons of ramps and jumps), but with guns.
Just not my type of game. |
Well, it's a RACING game with Guns. Yes, there are jumps and what not, similiar to Burnout. It's not an arena vehicualr combat game. It's a racing game.

Just not my type of game. Good news on the Marble Madness availability  Been waiting for that one. Can't wait to get home! |

My personal opinion is that no one has done it right since TM2 anyhow, once 989 got ahold of it it was ruined. Someone needs to reinvent the genre; till then Full Auto and Burnout will do just fine for me. |
I played Full Auto for about 3 or 4 minutes and just didn't have the will to want to play it.
Also, and I hope this is just because of the demo, but it looked really... plastic. A lot like the Cruisin' USA series and games on the Dreamcast. I don't know what it is but it didn't pull me in the way PGR3 does or Need for Speed does. Kameo had a very similar sheen. I just can't quite put my finger on it. |
I was really hoping for a car-combat type of game, as well. The Vigilante 8 games on the PS1 were among my favorites, and I've been hankering for more games like those for quite some time.
Still, I may download the demo this afternoon and give it a whirl, but my hopes aren't high. |

If that's the game (Full Auto), they should have held back the demo, because it sucks, and more people would have bought it if they hadn't played that pile of mess.

Doesn't necessarily make a game bad, but it does seem a little "fakey" The demo did nothing for me, they may get a few people that need to buy any new Xbox 360 game that comes out but I'll wait for Burnout. That seems more worth the $60. |
I was just looking through some games, and the Xbox 360 is going to be a shooters heaven. Man it's got some great looking games, a bucket load. You guys have got to see 1UP's new show. It has direct-feed footage of GRAW's single player, and it is nothing short of stunning. The first single player footage of the game. X05 footage of this game didn't look so great, but it looks incredible now. Here's the link. It's in the first fourth of the video where they talk about their impressions and show footage from the single and multiplayer.
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3147541 I also saw a vid of a MMO FPS called Huxley that I haven't heard of before, and that looks even more insane. It wasn't new footage that I saw, but it was new to me. Shit, it looks prerendered, but it's actually realtime according to the developers and the preview I saw. Here's a couple of caps from the environments, and yes they are realtime according to the IGN and TeamXbox preview vids. http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/2145/11172425276bi.jpg Plus you've got Gears of War, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty, and Unreal Tournament 2007. |
When is the last truly GREAT game that SEGA has done? It seems like they just don't have any artists working for them, and all they do is generic crap these days.
Before anyone mentions Condemned ...I think it's is pretty good, but I wouldn't call it great. |

Just played the demo. It's average. Not great, not bad. Graphics were ok at best, and aiming and shooting simultaneously on the right side of the controller proved difficult. I just aimed my car instead of that target thing. The rewind feature is pretty interesting. I'm still not sure why the game sometimes goes into slowmo when you get airborne (seems like a completely pointless feature). I wonder if there's going to be powerups and different weapons in the final version. I think I'm going to stick to Burnout.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate topic, but I've got a quick question:
Around how much are people receiving at places like EB and Gamestop for 360 game trade ins? I'd really like to get Kameo this weekend and I've got two games that I'd like to trade. I know that two trade ins likely won't cover the cost of one new game, but I'd like to know around how much store credit I should expect for the two -- Project Gotham and PDZ. Thanks. |
If you are a patient person you could easily get about $30 for each on half.com. I'm not sure about trade in values though.
I played the full auto download last night for about 30 minutes. Sucks that after the race it dumps you into the dashboard instead of being able to load it again. Average is the perfect word for the game thouh. Not great, but not awful like everyone keeps saying. I think I might cancel my preorder. It will give me a budget title to pick up down the road. |
