This part was in an e-mail that I just got from GameSpot:
Currently on for this month on Xbox Live Arcade are AstroPop, Feeding Frenzy, and Jewel Quest, but there's no hard, fast release calendar for Xbox Live Arcade. When stuff is done, stuff comes out. So far, I'm spending 80% of my time on the Xbox 360, playing Xbox Live Arcade games. I just got my high score on Zuma last night, around 310,000. I also bought Joust and Marble Blast Ultra. For $10, these are great values and the kids love to play these games. It's funny watching a 7 year old having lots of fun with Joust which came out over 20 years ago. Chris |
And the writer of the article also wrote this about our latest update:
Lastly for this week, Microsoft pushed out a new dashboard and kernel update for the Xbox 360. This is the second one that's gone out since the release of the system. Remember the first time you connected the system to an Internet connection and it was all "yo, we gotta download something, hang out, OK?" That was the first one. This update's pretty minor. Now you can delete a profile but keep all of its saved games. And a few error messages are more detailed now. The update that people keep asking about--the ability to download content in the background--isn't in this build of the dash. Personally, I don't see why people want that so badly, but then I have a computer in the same room as my 360, so I can just sort of turn around and do something else while things download. Chris |
I bought Marble Blast Ultra last night and it is so much fun. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is as well. It's pretty easy in the Beginner and Intermediate levels, but once you get into the Advanced levels it's really tough. Also online play is just as fun.

I'd like to see a pinball game on Arcade.

Xbox Live Aracde is Pure Genius.
No games to release? Sell tried-and-true holdovers. Brilliant! Now, with that said I would like a few more games that take advantage of the system :) |
I would love to see a few XBox Live Arcade games that are 2 or 4 player games, plus with the ability of online playing. Marble Blast Ultra is a good example of playing against many opponents online.

Well, OXM gave Full Auto a big ol' score of 5.5 in their latest issue.
   Here are some reasons someone posted at TeamXbox: + They nailed the cool unwreck feature. - Limited weapon options. - No story or plot, not even a thin one. ? What happened to good old-fashioned post-apocalyptic wastelands as a background story? |
I read on CAG that one of the servers that released the patch was releasing a faulty patch. Now, how much of that is true, who knows....if there was a definite statement somewhere, I would LOVE to see it, since I was the one affected by the D/L.
I'll still get Full Auto....already have it pre-ordered. Who needs a PLOT when you are driving and blowing crap up. People love Burnout and it has NO plot what-so-ever. |
Exactly the negative plot score is ridiculous.
I read that COD2 has a new patch to fix the save/lost saved games issue. |

I read that COD2 has a new patch to fix the save/lost saved games issue. I got really nervous when I first saw the score for Full Auto and I was immediately thinking of what to do with my preorder. But in the end I realized exactly what you guys did. This game is supposed to be shallow drive fast blow shit up have fun, I think it will serve it's purpose:) |

The second patch is more directed at fixing the multiplayer and adding maps. |
I'll post this here, since the PS3 thread was locked!

Sony employee fired for comparing PS3 to Xbox 360 Ellie Gibson 11:57 03/02/2006 SOE artist defends online article A former employee of Sony Online Entertainment has spoken out about how an online article criticising the PlayStation 3 ended up getting him fired from the company. In an interview with PS3week, former SOE 3D artist Josh Robinson said: "All I really did was write a few paragraphs that gave my opinion on publicly released information... I didn’t reveal any tech info and I didn’t reveal different shipping plans. I’m still in awe at the whole uproar over what amounts to NO information." In January, Robinson posted an article on his blog which read: "Our game just keeps getting moved back... And back... And back. Again, where is the box? Where is the final system? When is it coming out? No one knows and in the mean time people in the industry are starting to get just a little salty." "You could always tell where the PS3 dev box was because it’s the room that had the F-bomb coming out of it half the day," he added. But the comments most likely to have riled Sony executives were to do with the PS3's technical capabilities versus those of the Xbox 360: "I’ve also talked with people on the technical side of the Xbox 360. The consistent comment I am hearing from people on my end is, 'The Xbox 360 is better'," Robinson wrote. "They are saying that it is capable of just doing more." Robinson told PS3week that he asked at least two Sony employees to read the blog entry before it was posted, and even showed it to an SOE producer. "We were all in agreement that I was not breaking NDA with what I was saying," he said. However, according to Robinson, he was "Let go at Sony after the article was plopped on the desk of Sony corporate. I was also asked to remove the article immediately, which I did without any resistance." Although Robinson has defended his right to publish the article, he claims that he has no bad feelings towards SOE: "It was something unfortunate that happened and I sincerely hope Sony isn’t damaged by it... In fact I cannot say enough nice things about the CEO and the VP of the company." "Did I knowingly break NDA? I absolutely did not. I would never do that and I would never want to hurt Sony Online. Did I dance in the grey area by even opening my mouth? Yes I did and I was fired for it." Robinson said he received four or five job offers immediately after leaving Sony, and even got a book deal as a result of the article. He has now accepted a new position at an unnamed company in the Santa Monica area - but while Robinson is optimistic about the future, he has clearly learned a lesson from his experience. "I guess the new rule for me is, don’t ever say anything at all about anything. Ever... Ever." Chris |
When will these people learn... blogs can get you fired? Sure, there's freedom of speech, but he openly disparaged Sony's system, and he can be seen as an authority on the matter. He'll be quoted all over the internet now. C'mon, go complain to your coworkers, not on an open blog.

To be fair:

I got my xbox 360 last saturday and I just had my first possible freezing problem.
Was in xbox arcade and esacaped out of it and went to call of duty 2 and resumed my game and the screen just froze and laser stopped spinning on pre level screen. Please note one thing different I did was I went from xbox arcade into the game very quickly I was basically pressing the buttons on the controller repeatedly and it seemed like the system had a hard time catching up with the rapid button presses. Everything else worked fine after I restarted it. Anyone else experience something similar? |
I've noticed that if I'm loading a game or something that I should not press the Xbox Guide button. I corrupted my PDZ file by doing this. Froze up on PGR3 doing the same thing. Patience is a virtue apparently.

Yup the problem came after getting out xbox arcade and shifting thru all the menus very rapidly like I was basically not letting the system keep up with the button presses. Definetly gave me a *UGHHH* in my gut when it Froze. Anyone else have it freeze like that before?
