It sort of sucks, I bought the first one on PS2 before the cube version was announced. I'd like them on the same system for the use of the old characters, but I'm planning on moving all the current systems to the other room when Wii comes out - so if I got the Cube version I could still play it on my main tv.

Anyone wanna trade a Cube version of the first one for the PS2 version?

The PS3 is supposed to be fully (or close to it) backward-compatible. Are you just not planning on getting a PS3 or is it too far away and you want to play LSW2 sooner?

whats differt on the Ds vs PS2??

thankz

I will also like to know about the differences if anybody knows. I seen reviews of the Gamecube and PS2 versions but I have yet to see one for the DS.

I rarely play on my PS2 anymore and I would prefer to play this game on my DS Lite if no big differences besides graphics, are found.

PixyJunket 09-08-06 11:30 AM

I actually JUST bought the Cube Lego Star Wars last week ($15 at Best Buy).

A friend bought the Xbox version when it first came out so that's how I got to play it.

Now, to have a co-op marathon to unlock all the characters this weekend.

PixyJunket 09-08-06 11:31 AM

The GBA and DS versions will be different games for the most part.

The DS version does have FOUR PLAYER co-op if I remember correctly.

I might have to go and buy the PS2 version.

Thanks Pixy :) Didnt realise that. GAME's instore prices (I have one near me) with their "Lowest Price Gurantee"s are laughable :(

Prices for Target, Circuit, and Best Buy next week:

360 - $50
PS2/PSP/XBOX/GC - $40
GBA - $30
DS - $30 at Target, $35 at CC and BB

Target is giving away a $5 giftcard with purchase. Circuit is going a free LSWII t-shirt. Best Buy isn't doing anything, apparently.

well considering you can get $5 off at Best Buy with their gamer gift card I'd rather take that immediate discount

This doesn't really have to do with Lego Star Wars, but it is Lego related:

Holy LEGO Batman!
Friday 8-Sep-2006 1:10 PM Exclusive: The DC Comics Dark Knight is brick-ing it for another seminal Traveller's Tales Lego adventure!

The next licensed LEGO game from veteran UK developer, Traveller's Tales will be based on the massive DC Comics superhero, Batman, CVG can exclusively reveal today.

Just days prior to the release of the next entry in massively successful LEGO Star Wars series, CVG's investigative reports have learned that work has already begun on a franchise follow-up, staring the Caped Crusader in a block-busting adventure through a LEGO brick Gotham city.

No further details were offered from our sources, though we're sure that - considering how much fantastic fun the first two LEGO Star Wars games were - Batman's blocky-debut is certainly something to look forward to. While we would've probably opted for something more in the vein of LEGO Eastenders, the Dark Knight's deep universe and wide-array of characters and villains perfectly lends itself to the Lego spirit, and we're bursting to pilot a block-built Batmobile through the Gotham streets.

Advertisement:
When we contacted Traveller's Tales the studio as expected declined to comment on LEGO Batman, although further delving led us to development director, Jonathan Smith who when asked about the game told us that considering the studio's long running partnership with LEGO, "we will definitely will be making more LEGO games in the future."

Exciting stuff indeed. We will of course shine the big, CVG spotlight skyward when more word on LEGO Batman reaches our ears.
And to give you an idea of this:

Lego Batman? AWESOME(tho hopefully you will be able to play as JOKER somehow). Now we need a Lego Superman.

Brent L 09-08-06 10:41 PM

I want a Lego wrestling game.

Lego makes everything better.

Batman looks cool at first glance but part of the appeal of the Star Wars games is the huge roster of playable characters that you can swap on the fly. Batman would have, well Batman. Maybe Robin.

A Lego: Justice League game would make more sense.

Supermallet 09-09-06 07:47 AM

As long as the gameplay is there, the huge roster isn't a necessity. It's nice, and it's fun, but most of that "giant roster" are characters with the same abilities as the major characters. For example, Boba Fett as a kid does everything that Anakin does as a kid.

pinata242 09-09-06 09:21 AM

Lego JL would be hella sweet. As would X-Men and Harry Potter, but I think those rights are owned by EA?

Supermallet 09-09-06 09:22 AM

I know Harry Potter is. Not sure about X-Men. Could be just the movie games are done by EA.

Not anywhere near launch, maybe after a couple price drops. With two kids, my gaming time is less than it used to be - and I just can't justify the PS3 price for how much use I'd get out of it.

But speaking of kids, Lego SW is about the best father/kid co-op game I've ever seen. My son and I are both excited about the sequel.

PixyJunket 09-09-06 12:25 PM

Fry's lists PS2 and Xbox at $29.99, no listing for Cube.

I thought Activision owned the rights to several of the Marvel characters for game publishing purposes for the next several years?

I was thinking of replying to this saying the same thing about my older daughter and I. We enjoyed the first one. I wasn't going to, but right now, my 2-year-old walked in with the LSW1 case proclaiming "Star Wars!" and I thought it was just perfect and a sign I should post.

I sure wish we had a Fry's...

You are probably right.

Brewc 09-10-06 11:12 AM

Still can't decide if I want the Xbox version in wich I unlocked everything or the 360. Anyone read where having all characters and ships unlocked from LSW I will be an advantage on the new game? Probably should have relayed the game on the 360 for that reason. Was looking at getting a DS or PSP version to play around on looks like PSP has all the extras.
