The third disc is basically all the cutscenes and radio conversations cut together with some gameplay footage (without a HUD and using dramatic angles like those in the MGS3 gameplay trailers) added to fill in the gaps. It also includes narrated segments that feature the narrator of Metal Gear Saga Vol. 1. Basically, it's the cinema viewer of MGS1 but featuring narration instead of text and some gameplay footage in between.

Kojima and Co. had said that it took them as much time to cut this "feature" version as it would to cut an actual film. Sounds like hyperbole to me but...

So you're not missing much unless your a completist.

The third disc is every cutscene from MGS 3 put back to back. Apparently it runs 3 1/2 hours or something. Or what Roc said.

Yeah, I don't need that disc then. Especially since the other discs has the same thing, just not cut together. I went ahead and ordered Subsistence with the Bonus disc from EB.

For those of you who have to have the LE, it is available for pre-order at Barnes & Noble. Sadly, no bonus DVD.

The third disc has the cut scenes in movie format (I *THINK* just from MGS3, but it might be all MGS games... Don't hold me to that, though.)

The pre-order disc is the MG Saga...

That's going to go through Gamestop so you won't get the 3rd disc that way either.

GAMESTOP will have LE SET but they not guarantee how many they'll get it. At least 3 copies they'll received (the manager told me that) and he'll save 1 copy for me.

So does it ship to individual stores today (meaning I might get a copy later today) or does it go to some distribution warehouse first (meaning I'll get it tommorrow)?

Some stores got it in today, and most stores should have it tomorrow.

Does that go for the LE as well? The guy at my EB Games (who I swear MUST have brain damage) said he was going to buy the regular version AND the LE because he wanted his preferred online name and the LE wasn't coming out until the next week. Like I said, the dude needs help.

I dunno what that guy was talking about because both the limited and standard edition shipped on the same day. Can't wait to get my LE set tommorow.

Huh? I'm sorry but I don't follow. Are you asking if they'll be a new strategy guide released to coincide with this game? Most likely. Will there be a special strategy guide (with a few posters and whatnot)? I dunno. Maybe.

I got the strategy guide for MGS2 : Substance and it had NOTHING from the original game, just the bonus content. If the package is sealed, beware this time. Fortunately I picked up the MGS3 strat guide for .01 about a year ago at BB

We got the Subsistence HB in today, and it looked like it had stuff from the original game, but then again, it was pretty thin, and our Snake Eater HB is thick as hell. So I don't know if you would want to pick up both or just the new one. I'll take a closer look at both tomorrow.

so it looks like I'm going to be missing out on the LE due to gamestop.com being dumbasses. they are shipping the late preorders and backordering all the early ones. I ordered on 2/2 as did a ton of others and ours all are on backorder while anyone who placed there orders very late in the month are recieving shipping notices left and right. this blows.

Got the shipping confirmation for MGS3: Subsistence w/ Bonus DVD (ordered Monday). Also got MGS2: Substance via Half.com today in better than expected condition. I'm going to be loaded down with MGS by the end of the week.

Does this game have any downloadable camo, like the original MGS3 did? I can't find any way to download if it does.

Are any stores, besides EB and Gamestop, getting the Limited Edition? I just checked the Ebay prices, which are beyond outrageous. God I'm pissed. These Limited Editions usually sit on shelves for months. But this one, which I was really looking forward to, sells out before its even released.

You're pissed? I just went to EB Games and they forgot or sold my copy! That crazy salesman of mine is driving to another store to get me a copy tomorrow. My wife was with me when we found out they didn't have a copy and she was wicked pissed. That guy knew right away we BOTH were in the doghouse, so he sprung into action. I hope, anyway...

On the Saga disc, there's a major MGS3 spoiler within the first 10 seconds of the Metal Gear 1 chapter. Now that I know, I'm downright amazed that I made it this far without knowing it.

I just beat MGS: Twin Snakes tonight and will be starting up on Substance tomorrow...it's going to be a while before I get to play MGS3. We actually got two extra LE versions into the store today (I was the only one who pre-ordered an LE), and they sold out within an hour.
