That's good to hear. Shortly after I sent my e-mail, I decided to also call them via 1-877-432-9675. The customer service rep told me that, for both online and in-store orders, the way it's supposed to work is that the SAGA DVD is to be shipped along with the game. When I asked him about those that ordered online and already received their SAGA discs, he told me that he does not know how they managed to get them because they are to be sent to them along with the game.

So I guess whoever got a copy of the SAGA DVD got it because someone in the online department at EB screwed up. He also told me that some stores will only receive a limited supply of the SAGA DVD's so we are best to call the store and make sure they hold on to a copy for you.

Yeah, I would presume that the DVD would have come with the game, and that confirms it.

The DVD came in yesterday at my local Game Stop... From what I understand, there were about 30 pre-orders for the game (both versions combined,) and only about 8 Metal Gear Saga discs came in... After a couple of employees got theirs, and I got mine, that leaves 5.

The employees said that the disc would go to the people who ordered the LE version first, and to the people who have been bugging them about the disc for the last month... (like wittle ole' me )

EDIT: I have no idea if they will actually get another shipment of the Saga discs.)

I just picked up my copy of the DVD today. From what I could see, there are only three more copies left. I don't know how many people pre-ordered the game at my local EB.

It's a nice 26+ minute documentary. I couldn't help but laugh at Kojima's silly reason about why Raiden turned out the way he did.
Spoiler:
I can understand their wanting to attract female gamers but why would they totally ignore their already established fans?

It's cool to have a good looking copy of the latest MGS4 trailer. Too bad it was non-anamorphic.

That's pretty much it.

Now wait 'til you see what Kojima's original concept for the Boss was like.

Broke down and went to ebgames to pre-order it today. The guy was quick to tell me that I would get a free dvd if I put down $5. He had a large stack of them right by the register. He asked if I wanted to regular or "LE Version." I went ahead and got the LE even though I thought there were no more pre-orders for that. At least it's on my receipt. Can't wait to actually play the game.

So for those of us that ordered on line, are they just waiting to send the DVD with the game? Or should we expect to get it early... anyone know?

I read over at cheapassgamer.com that a few people who preordered on 2/2 already had theirs ship and are already in their hands. I ordered on the same day and mine hasn't shipped yet.

Does the LE ship the same day as the regular version?

Oh, BTW : PSM gave it a glowing review. Actually they gave a 10 and bemoaned not being able to give an 11.
They also said the $10 bonus disc was totally worth it for the 3 1/2 hr movie it ppresents. I'm still not sure, but it should help the resale value a lot. Since I never played MGS3 (I've been waiting for this version a LONG time), I have to wait on that third disc until I finish the game.

I got my Saga disk Monday. I was worried because the EBGames here was talking like they would get a very limited number of copies. I had to go to my sister-in-law's house after work, so I didn't get home until after 8:00. I always forget to check the answering machine, but, luckily, my wife did. I had a message that there was one copy left and they would hold it for me as long as possible, unless someone basically threatened them to hand it over. I called 'em up and they still had it, so I'm now holding it in my grubby little hands.

It's awesome. I've never pre-ordered a game to get a bonus before, but I'm glad I did this time.

I went to one EB and they said they sold through their allotment of bonus discs. I went to another EB which is literally five minutes up the road and they allowed me to pre order and said the bonus discs would be given out the day the game releases.

I then went to Gamestop and saw a pile of bonus discs on the counter. Now I need to go back to EB and cancel my pre-order.

Apparently I was the only one who preordered the LE version on my EB. I thought that was rather odd. They didn't want to give me the bonus disc when I went in the other day. He said some story about how Konami specifically said to only give out the bonus when they sell the game. He should have just said Kojima said that himself to give it more emphasis.

Konami said no such thing. It's just the manager's discretion.

Review just went up at IGN. Merely a 9.8/10! Sounds great, but they feel that the third disc is a total waste (which is 180 degrees from what PSM said). Now I don't know if I should bail on my preordered LE and get the regular version for $14 less ($23.99) at Frys next week. Either way, it sounds like an amazing game. Glad I waited all this time for it.

It's $10 extra for the LE and it sounds like they're making only a few thousand for the whole country, so I would suggest anyone who currently has an LE pre-order, that they keep it. You can always sell the third disc by itself later on Ebay if you don't want it.

Thanks. Let me think on it, though since I'm still not sure if I want to keep it or go on the cheap...

I'm actually thinking of doing just that since the IGN review pretty much confirmed my doubts regarding the third disc. Then again, I may just keep it as a sort of Metal Gear related oddity. Still, I wish they'd have had time to produce a few short new cinema sequences to bridge it all together rather than this cut/paste approach.

So what is on the 3rd disc? I got lazy and didn't order the LE because I didn't they would pull the same shit they did with Substance. Guess I was wrong. I love the MGS series, but not enough to pay extra for something I don't necessarily need.
