I seriously thought about it, but I made the mistake of not getting the person's name I talked to on the phone last night, so I doubt they'd do anything. And as for the other store, it'd be the manager's word against the guy working in electronics. He was a nice guy and I'd hate to force a situation that could put his job in jeopardy right around the holidays.

Why not try the one from Computers4Sure.com (They are owned by Office Depot, so they are legit)

For those who ordered the silver bundles from Buy.com and later cancelled .... how long did it take for them to cancel your order?

Curious if any SoCalers have tried Duarte Target. I got one last Thursday morning two hours after they opened and they still had 3 sitting in their packing boxes behind the counter. The Target itself is smaller than the usual and it's not visible from the freeway so that might contribute to them not selling. The guy also said the previous shipments didn't go very fast either.

UPS just came with my gamestop.com system. Too bad I am leaving for work right now. It's going to be a long 8 hours.

There's X-Boxes all over the place here! I think they're going for $150.

XBox 360's are very hard to find though.

Thanks DJ, I just ordered my bosses system through computers4sure.com. At the time I called there were 5 left. I got mine on launch date from gamestop, and she was busting my chops because I couldn't get her one too. So now I came through for her...

Now where is my Christmas bonus???

Hopefully I get this for X-mas

The Ebay market is definitely coming down. I just saw a 360 + game + extra controller bid to $700 and it was a featured item. That's only $200 over cost and it ended up not meeting the reserve.

I agree Gallant. I was looked there last night, and the extras don't seem to be adding even retail value to a system. I think most people at this point don't want to risk not getting it by Sunday.

Also, I think a lot of people have just given up. I know a couple of people who were looking for systems for their kids for Christmas that have given up.

Leech: Glad you got your GameStop order. Mine is FINALLY in UPS' hands and has a delivery date of 12/21. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine hasn't shipped yet. It's been 56 hours since I ordered.

But I don't care anymore.

Why?

I scored a bundle from Sam's Club for $494 including tax. It had an extra wireless controller, and the plug and play charge kit as extras.

My story is funny. I show up at 9:15. I ask the greeter where the line for the 360 is. He says no line. So I wait. It's around 9:30 when I decide to check my Visa card balance. It shows I don't have enough credit to cover the purchase. I am pissed, so I call the number on the card. The english challenged worker explains there is a $700 charge pending.

You guessed it, Buy.com. The order I cancelled 2 days ago, and got 2 confirmations. So he says he can't fix it, I have to wait 14 days unless Buy.com says otherwise. So I hang up, and rush home (after asking some dude to hold a spot for me) and grab my other Visa.

I get there at 10:05, and the line has formed. Luckily I was 6th in line at that point (I was first before). I didn't care if I was last, as long as I got one.

So I stand in line and wait. Only one person is ringing people up at the jewelry counter. So it takes 10 minutes before it's my turn. Then I see it.

Sam's doesn't take Visa. Or American Express. Or Mastercard. They take Discover (which I don't have) and their store card, along with debit, cash and checks. I didn't have a check with me, and my debit card was at home (I never use it). The one day I didn't have cash on me had to be today. So I ask if they can hold one, they say no. He says try back again, maybe if you're quick. I noticed there were 5 people behind me. Keep in mind they had 16, and sold 6 already. So there is no way I'd be able to go home again and come back. Right when I am about to give up, the lady says if you apply for the Sam's card, you can wait in line while I run it.

Bingo. I got approved, and walked out with the last one, just as about 20 people came running over asking if they were too late.

I stopped by Best Buy and grabbed Condemned and PDZ, and got the $10 gift card free.

Speaking of Best Buy, I am canceling (or trying to) the order tonight. Screw them. I paid only $20 more then what Best Buy charged me, and got an extra controller and the charge kit. Sam's rules!

The whole buy.com deal appears to have gone down the toilet. I just hope they cancel my order before they get more stock.

Mine says cancelled but they still have the pending hold. It's a good thing I don't use that card. I am calling them today or tomorrow to try and take care of it. I am almost considering just waiting the 14 days for it to drop off since I heard the Buy.com people are hard to deal with and understand.

Damn. K-mart.com just had some premium systems, non-bundle version. I added it to my cart and just as I was checking out I noticed that the total was $30 too high. So I went back to delete the extended warranty and bang, out of stock.

I'm not sure anyone's actually got one from Kmart.com. I was able to order one this week from there but called right after and was told they didn't actually have any. I don't know if that's still the case, but I wouldn't beat yourself up about it if I were you.

I have never in my life heard of a company that doesn't take Visa or Mastercard.

I didn't even know people use Discover anymore. They have to be like Costco who only takes American Express. Why do these companies alienate Visa and MC? Seems like they lose money, but then again maybe the exclusive deals with Amex/Discover are worth alot more.

Well Costco or Sam's don't. You can use your debit card with the Visa/MC logo, but only for debit. At Sam's you can use it like a credit card but you have to have the money in the account.

Yep, someone over at Fatwallet claimed they called and got someone in India who had no idea what to say other than they shipped remaining stock today and are now out of stock for who knows how long.

I believe Sam's was one of the first major companies to take Discover, along with Sears. But that's all they've taken, even since I was a member there, which was 5 or so years ago.

I just had a hold drop off from Swiss Colony. I think mythings shipped. The card only had 120 bucks on it, and the charge was 81.xx. So they pinged it for 81.xx, which went through, and let me process the order. Then tried to charge me the 81.xx each of the last three days, each attempt was of course declined. Finally the authorization dropped off, and I guess they'll try to charge it again today or tomorrow.

I'm glad to see the Ebay prices go down, since like was said earlier, it won't get here till Christmas.

I hope the whole Buy.com process isn't frustrating. I still have to cancel Best Buy, too, and they have a hold on $470.
