PS2 has been mostly vertical during its long shelf life. The Xbox360 was vertical, then it stopped playing DVDs or games. Moved it horizontal, didn't give me a problem. Very odd and unreplicated problem.

Yep, my PS2 has always been vertical and has never given me a problem either. I think the 360 looks a lot better horizontally, though.

Finally got around to hooking up my 360 and its horizontal with nothing on top...

had to get a new DVD player (Philips DVP 642) to get the 360 to fit in... had an old Zenith carousel DVD changer that took up way too much space. Will look to put that in another room after we buy another house.

I would never think of putting a system vertical until one is designed to only be placed that way. The scratched disc reports seem to be all over the place and I'm not about to risk my system or games.

Mine is vertical. I have a holder for it, so it's harder for it to topple over.

I scratched my PGR3 disk when I accidently moved it because I was too involved in the game. Haven't had any noise problems, but this seems to be the best way to keep in ventilated so as long as I don't kick it again its going to stay that way.

Horizontal.

Just didn't look right sitting next to the TV/Componet stand. Goes well sitting horizontal next to the rest of my video/audio gear.

Hmm, I've had mine vertical without any issues but with all this feedback I guess I'll switch it to horizontal. I've had it on the rug and it just seemed better that way. I guess I'll try to figure out a way to get it horizontal. There's really no room on top of the bureau between the 17" LCD, cable box and DVD player. Laying it on the rug doesn't seem like a good idea. I'll figure something out I guess.

On a public service note, playing Madden on the treadmill is fine as always, but this is the first time I've used a FPS on it and I almost killed myself twice playing COD this weekend. I'm hoping I get used to it because it sure makes the time go by fast, but it's gonna be tough to explain the situation to the EMTs.

Gaming on a treadmill. Make's FPSs more realistic!
