He ended up in the wall and was really really pissed. Is that bad form? Shouldn't people have to work to pass you? Should I have just let him go?
Dude I don't think that's bad form, if he was blowing your doors off then I'd say let him pass but if it was a slow pass then he either has to draft properly or file in and wait for a turn to take you over. With that said if he was to your door and you cut him off then yeah that makes you an asshole, but it's funny none the less

Oh and yeah I heard it has single player modes with the challenges and things, but I don't have a 360 to try my copy out yet so I can't say for sure

If anybody else is playing PGR3 online, send me a friend invite. We are trying to get 8 people together to play some custom races, which are generally pretty fun.

Same here.. Send me an invite as well. I'd much rather play with 8 friendly type people then going in with strangers who piss and moan because we all end up in a wreck in the first turn.

I forget what car I bought first. I think it was the Ultima GTR.

So I finally opened and played Madden... and it may take some getting used to. First off, I know that NBA 2K6 for the 360 got lower scores from some reviewers for being pretty much a port with a few added features and much improved graphics, and that the sentiment on this board was that they didn't want ports... but in this case, I would've loved to have the Xbox Madden 06 (maybe sans cone vision) with better graphics. The controls are very different, and I've noticed some discrepancies between the sparse manual and the in-game controller setup (I don't think the in-game setup even mentions the "truck" stick). I still don't understand how to break through the line as a defensive lineman. And kicks and fieldgoals seem too easy now (though I thought they were actually too hard in the last-gen versions). Graphics are good, but the many, many QB closeups before the snap get annoying. Maybe it's because I don't have a widescreen TV, or maybe it's to make it more realistic, but I hate having to zoom out and look left and right to see the WRs on the end. And for some reason, it loves to zoom into the scoreboard to show these dinky little lite-bright animations for stuff like sacks and FGs (this might be stadium specific) instead of just showing a replay. Oh yeah, and only two can play at any time.

Ah well, I'll probably love it in a month. Note I didn't mention the lack of options or commentary or challenges, which I knew going in. I just didn't know that they changed the entire play scheme.

These achievements are weighted oddly as well. I think I get 15 or so points from finishing Perfect Dark Zero on the average difficulty, but I got 100 yesterday from just racking up 200 yards with a RB in Madden.

Yeah, Madden took a while to get used too. On ALL-PRO I can dominate the CPU, but ALL-MADDEN I keep getting beat. I guess it's ok though, since I can still hang usually.
Defensive Line moves are the bumpers....LB is a spin, RB a power move. Also, I don't like when you zoom out to look at the routes, it stays zoomed out (unless I missed something)

The game is still good, I play my franchise a lot....it just takes a while to get into. It's the game I played most on the 360 thus far.

It's the same on a widescreen TV

So far, Madden has been my biggest dissapointment. It went from being a good looking game with (IMO) great gameplay and enough features that you felt you were immersed in the NFL world to a better looking game with average gameplay with no emotion whatsoever. I'm playing franchise and it feels like a "season" mode where you just play your 16 games and that's it.

You don't have to look left or right on a widescreen TV. You still have to zoom out though. I cannot wait until next year. This year's did seem thrown together, but I still enjoy it. I wasn't expecting the world I guess. Some of the momentum physics are off too.

I'd definitely be interested in doing some races. I've only did one race online, which I won, so that was cool!

Looks like I won't be playing PGR3 online much at all. I didn't enjoy the first 2 games that much but I figured I would rent the new one just for the hell of it. I'm not the best racer in the world and I don't need all these people who think a race is the most important thing in life.

add me to the list who probably won't play PGR3 much online.

my posts about my experiences with this game so far:

I got blamed for the other guys crap. I didn't even realize it until I was waiting for the next race and everytime a few people would come in I'd here something like "screw this, that guy is here". so now I have a 100% unsporty tag for something I didn't even do. that kinda sucks.

EDIT: if anyone ever wants to have a fun race complete with watching me crash into every other wall through your rearview mirror shoot me an invite.

- this doesn't seem to be working at the moment

Chris,

You sound like the kind of person I like to race against, because I'm not much better. The 2 live races I did yesterday, I didn't finish the race because the leader was so far ahead.

Send an invite to me, if you want. It will help out when I have that PGR fix to race and don't want to deal with the uber competitiveness on live.

I wonder if people paid much attention to the zone they chose. I was hoping that people in the 'Recreation' zone wouldn't care if caused a crash in PGR. These guys need to stick to the 'Pro' or maybe the 'Underground' zones.

Yeah, send me over an invite as well. I only raced once online, which I won, but I don't think the others were very good. On single-player I usually only win 'bronze' medals, with the occasional silver or gold (usually on the speed ones).

Probably not too much. I chose the Recreation zone because overall, I'm not that competitive and play for fun. The guy that bitched at me and left me the neg player review is also listed there. Either he didn't pay attention and picked the wrong zone, or he should pick Pro if he is that sensitive to a crash in the first turn which 99% of all races have.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of people use Recreation, I know I do since I'm no Pro. Oh well, if or when I get PGR (X-mas probably), you can race with me. I won't bitch about anything, however, I may rub a bit. People take it TOO seriously. I finally got online to play PDZ, and people bitch there too. One of the slight downfalls, but still a good time
