Well, picked it up last night but didn't get a chance to bust it out tonight.

It's a LOT of fun. I'm looking forward to playing with it at parties.

I tried one song on Easy, and bumped it up to Medium right away, which I think I'll be at for awhile. I tried one song on Expert and "died" within about 20 seconds. I was laughing so hard...there is no friggin way I'll ever be able to play at that level.

But man, is it fun. Just the simple yet awesome mechanics of tilting the guitar straight up and down for the "Star Power" mode is incredibly fun, and gives me great hope for new games with new types of controls *cougRevolutioncough*

Highly recommended!

I got the chance to play this at my friends house. So awesome. After playing Thunderkiss 65' I was hooked. Will have to get this sometime in the next couple weeks.

I've been playing for a couple weeks now. Finally finished Hard Career and only have 3 songs left on Expert Career. My fingers on my left hand are in pain, but it's a lot of fun.

I know many don't like buying on eBay, so if that isn't your thing just ignore this. If you do take the eBay dive like me, read on.

Here is a great deal for Guitar Hero w/controller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/GUITAR-HERO-W-GUITAR-P...itemZ8236932989

Use the following code to get 10% off (when paying using PayPal, you'll see options where you can put in the code):

C1-Holiday2005

The code works on all eBay purchases by the way.

The final total total ends up being $66.84, and there are only two still up for grabs. I bought one, and two other people jumped on it really quick. I just thought I'd share it with you guys really quick.

If you guys haven't heard the songs yet, go here:

http://www.guitarherogame.com/music.asp

Most of them sound really good, and I'm sure once you start playing the game you are so into it that even the ones you don't think sound that great are perfectly fine.

My best buy had itmispriced on the shelf at 59.99, I added my 5 dollar off coupon to get it for 55... I have never played guitar, but passed all the easy songs... got a little bit into medium... a little harder, my friend who has played in the past, was ALOT better, the experience does help...

even got my wife and his fiance to try it out too... great game

Just got back from my local BB, and while they had a bunch of them in stock (probably 8+), they were not mispriced, and therefore didn't get a sale from me.

I played a friend of mine's last week and I found it quite enjoyable, and it seems like something that would have a huge replay factor for me, unlike Taiko Drum Master. However, I'll just pick it up after Christmas with some of my holiday money and use this money for gifts and bills instead. It's not something I *needed* to have right now, but the $10 misprice plus $10 I have leftover in BBBucks would've made it a great impulse buy for me.

Just got this game too. It's really fun. Played it with some of the family for Thanksgiving. We all had a blast.

I think I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow since I've been hearing lots of good things about it. Hopefully my local EB or Gamestop has it in stock.

Well over Thanksgiving I had a chance to go down to Fry's and check this game out.

For those wondering, playing guitar helps a decent amount, but doesn't make you an instant expert. I played two songs, the first was "Iron Man" on Medium. Really easy for me, although I did miss a few notes trying to get the hang of how it worked. Unfortunately, after I had watched some guy butcher a song, no one was around to see me work my magic, so I decided to play again. I chose "You've Got Another Thing Coming" and decided to try it on Hard. Somehow there was instantly a throng of 5 or 6 people who appeared behind me. The 5th "fret" really does make the game a lot harder. I was pressing it with my pinky, but I think I was coming at it from a bad angle, because I was having a hard time getting it to register. The moving double stops (two notes at once) are definitely challenging. As I butchered section after section, I could hear some of the people behind me chuckling. I did make it 50% through the song before dying, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

It was definitely a lot of fun. I'm not sure if the buttons were a bit sticky from being a display model or if I just need to stretch my hands out a bit, but there was a decent amount of resistence. It doesn't feel like I'm fretting the strings that hard on my guitar (which has a low action), but I'm sure I'd get used to it. The whammy bar is cool, although I'm not sure if you're supposed to use it all the time. The strumming button doesn't feel very natural, but I definitely like the idea. I didn't figure out the star mode either.

I really liked the music, and I'm positive my wife will love this game. I think I'll be asking for it for Christmas. I'm wondering if I should hold out for the Red SG controller, as it looks a lot better than the black and white one.

I've been playing this game a lot over the past week. I've gotten five stars on easy and medium in career mode, and now I'm trying to get the hang of it in hard. My biggest problem is getting used to doing the pull-offs during solos. Those kill me.

Finally played Draven's copy over the weekend. Too fun! Went out and bought it last night. Best Buy has it on sale for $59.49, but it didn't ring up that way. I had to tell the cashier that I saw it on their website for that price, and she had to go over to customer service and look it up on bestbuy.com. But I did end up getting it for that price.

I am having a blast with this game. Easy mode is a breeze now that I've played it a bit. Except for "Cowboys From Hell". Must have a mental block or something with that song. Having the most trouble with it.

A quick question for the pros...

How am I supposed to place my fingers between the 5 buttons? Do I use my thumb for the green? Or am I supposed to just jump between them with my four other fingers?

I can't seem to get my pinky to work with the blue, so I'm pretty screwed when I get to the orange.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Go watch the video "Rockin' Out to Iron Man" on IGN:

http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/748/748976/vids_2.html

This is one of the best games I've played all year on the PS2, top three even. In terms of overall enjoyment though, I'd have to say that this is the absolute best game of the year.

This is a must own game for all PS2 and music fans. Even if you don't like other games like this, you should still at least give it a shot. You owe it to yourself.

Funny video.

Still having a blast with this game. Beat easy mode and started in on medium. Man! Some of these are getting pretty hard. Starting getting some three-star ratings. Those level 4 songs were killing me last night. My pinky is also disappointing me. Haven't had to use it for much over the years.

Check out this thread (and the other threads on the various boards, these people are totally obsessed with the game):

And check out this video, pretty cool:

I ended up playing this game for hours last night. I love when you really get into it, especially starting on medium, the game sorta takes control of your mind and hands, and you start doing just awesome, but you don't even really understand just how in the world you are doing it.

My favorite song to play through so far is Ziggy Stardust on the medium setting.

When it's all said and done, it's possible that I could name Guitar Hero as my new favorite game of all time, it's seriously that good.

Totally. I was doing that on a song last night. Got through a really tough part and was like "I have no idea how I just did that".

Ziggy Stardust rules. Great song. Now, Cowboys From Hell and Bark at the Moon? Pissing me off! Also, Crossroads, and the number 3 song on the same level as Crossroads. Can't remember the name. Can NOT get better than 3 stars on those on medium. Curses!

I bought all of the bonus songs last night and started playing through those. Some aren't that great, but some are pretty cool. There's one (I'll have to look up the name) that's really fun to play.

After reading all these comments, I'm now kicking myself for selling my PS2 when I picked up my xbox 360.
