Very different. You will need a voltage adaptor if you use a US/Japanese system in the UK.Originally Posted by grim_tales

The SP2 is just a tad brighter than the PSP on its highest setting and DS Lite is probably using the same screen.

The thing is I actually want to take it on holiday (to Greece in the summer, about June). Does Greece or most of Europe have the same voltage as the UK (230V)?
Sorry for being stupid

I was thinking the same. The PSP for all its faults has a nice looking screen and I don't think the DS is that much brighter and is certainly a lower resolution. Granted the PSP's highest brightness setting only works when it is plugged in.Originally Posted by PixyJunket

I think most of Europe is the same, but I'm not 100% sure on a country by country basis. I'd do a little research before traveling.Originally Posted by grim_tales

Whoa.. I didn't know that. I bet the PSP at that setting would be equal to the SP2 and therefore equal to the DS Lite. I'm willing to take a side-by-side of both on their highest settings later tonight if anybody wants to see a more accurate comparison. I've got no love for the PSP but the picture above is not really an accurate comparison in my opinion.Originally Posted by darkside

I will have to check again, but I think the PSP is still a bit dimmer than the SP2 and micro but its not the difference shown in that picture.Originally Posted by PixyJunket

I'm just happy Atlus is going to be bringing out some Super Robot Wars games. Sure, it's not the ones with the licensed robots, but still...
Sorry, I know they're GBA games, but hey, the DS can play both!

I bet Atlus would love to release Mother 3 here as well.. Nintendo let them publish Cubivore (a Cube game they made they didn't want to release here) so it seems like it could be possible.

Nintendo plans to release a special rumble pack that fits in the Lite without sticking out.Originally Posted by Mann Made
Do GBA cartridges really stick out like that or is that a PlayYan media player? That kinda sucks. Even if you don't want to use the DS to play GBA games some games will need that slot for the rumble pack.

The DSL appears to be using an even better screen than the Micro/SP2 one. Some guy on GAF videotaped a comparison between the DSL and Micro using the same game (Final Fight GBA) and the difference is huge. The colors on the DSL are more vibrant and the viewing angle is much MUCH better on the DSL than the Micro.Originally Posted by PixyJunket

That's great news. I love the Micro screen, but it's too small. A DS-sized brighter screen would be perfect.

Well I can dream I guess. I would love to see someone get Mother 3 and the Mother 1&2 GBA game to the US as well. The first GBA Fire Emblem needs a stateside release as well.Originally Posted by PixyJunket

This is pretty cool:
Virtual PC Desktop on the DS
READ MORE: Homebrew, Nintendo DS, Portable Media, TOP, VNC
This is a piece of software, but it’s a fascinating use of the DS’ Wi-Fi capabilities. It’s essentially a version of VNC that can run on the DS and shows two screens—a larger version of the full PC screen and a zoomed window. The software is completely homebrew and it’s called PointyRemote, which could also be the name of a death metal band.

You guys have been discussing the brightness of the SP2's screen, so I figure this is on topic. I just got an SP2. The package was sealed, but it looked a little used to me. What is strange is that the sticker on the back with the serial number is a little peeled. Maybe I am a suspicious person, but I suspect foul play. I want to make sure this is really an SP2 and not an SP1 that someone switched out and returned.
There are only two brightness settings. Normal and high. On high, its quite bright and very satisfactory. But people keep seeming to mention multiple brightness settings. I only have two.
Does this sound like an SP2?

I just wanted to say that I am pleasantly suprised with Age of Empires. I have done about 4 of the tutorials and I am enjoying it. Because of the turnbased nature, it makes it great to play while waiting in between poker hands.

Just a 'heads up":

Phoenix Wright ordered back in stores
Hard-to-find courtroom DS title being restocked in retail; Capcom says decision was made based on "demand."
Much to the chagrin of second-hand retailers, Capcom has responded to gamers' appeals and decided to bring Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney back to stores. A Capcom representative today told GameSpot that the company is shipping more units, and that gamers "interested in purchasing a copy should check with their store," implying that Internet reports that the game is now back in stores are true.
As of press time, online retailers EBGames.com and GameStop.com did not have the game in stock. However, some forum posters have claimed seeing the game in stores again as well as on online retail site NCS for $35.

I also loved Phoenix Write, it's great Capcom is listening to the fans and re-releasing it again. It's one of those games thats just enjoyable to play, and further you get the better it gets. The game had pretty much non-existent advertising but those that played it joined the cult following, word spreads when a game is good
. It was going for crazy amounts on eBay.
