Hey guys I just started playing WOW Thursday and have to say I am really enjoying it so far. I am a lvl 13 hunter on Cenarius. It seems like some other people here play on Cenarius, so if anyone would be willing to help a noob a little, that would be awesome. :) My name is Borg on there.

Anyone else think 1.84 will kill battlegrounds? I know I won't be queueing up anymore especially after the last steamrolls in the 40-49 AB matches on Cenarius.

For those that don't know if you lose in less than 10 minutes you get nothing. Winners are still rewarded but losers are punished.

I am seriously thinking of rolling a horde alt to grind faction for warsong and that like the guild cowbell compels you did. Most got revered with Warsong before leveling to 30.

to win in less then ten minutes dont you have to controll all five points for almost all the time? I've had some bad ABs but i think they usually last ten minutes atleast. Maybe it will make people actually group instead of just going for HKs. If you have everyone take the farm and mill (if you're alliance) you should be able to get atleast 500 resources before the other guys get 2000.

The new change is to prevent groups from AFKing out immediately and then requeueing right after and getting a cheap honor mark. This will at least force them to play for 10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure if you afk out you don't get an honor token. The lack of an honor token for games under 10 minutes wouldn't really discourage me from queuing any more than the 1-2h queues currently. Instead I just rolled a horde on a pvp server and I'm enjoying actually enjoying being able to play Warsong Gulch. :)

I think I'm starting to get bored again... I was doing so well, too. I got my undead mage up to level 36, but it seems like I just can't find any good quests anymore. I did a few in the Arathi Highlands, but then all the quests I got were either for elites or red quests, which I couldn't do alone (I much prefer to solo in this game). Then someone suggested I try Stranglethorn Vale or something like that. Same thing, a couple good quests, and then they're all too much for me to solo. Is there somewhere else I should be leveling up at for level 36? Or do I pretty much have to give up on going solo, and always find someone to quest with?

You can solo from 1-60. There will always be quests you can do at your level. Are you horde or alliance?

head to Thousand Needles south of the barrens, joeblow. in the shimmering flats (eastern part) there are lots of "kill x amount of guys" type quests that are great to solo.

Also you might try Desolace south of stone talon mountains

Yep, like eelkram said, every class is soloable from 1-60. You don't even have to do a single instance. And mage was the fastest class I ever leveled up. How are you working your pulls? The mage has the most effect cc so they can usually hold their own. You can even solo elites just fine as a frost mage. And if there's like 3 or 4 mobs that you need to take down, you can just aoe them all. As a matter of fact, you can just aoe grind to level up.

Hmm, I'm not a frost mage, I'm concentrating on arcane and fire. Maybe I just suck, though, since if I run into an elite at my level, I barely make it out alive. I can't imagine going against 3 or 4 of them alone.

I'll have to check out Desolace and Shimmering Flats. I've been to both of those before, but I thought they were visually ugly, so I just left. :lol:

Yeah, I'd think it would be pretty difficult to win an AB in less than 10 minutes, unless one side just stood by and watched or something. You'd have a better chance winning WSG in 10 minutes, but even then, I'd think it rarely happens without any collusion involved.

Personally, the new rule doesn't bother me all that much. The honor farming is really getting out of hand anyway.

Ive lost WSg in like 3 minutes before. i have no idea how it happened so fast. they must have had a couple druids that would steal the flag and run. i didnt even know the other side had gotten one flag and suddenly its over and look and they have 3.

WoW came in Maxim this month. I am installing now...what do I do first?

the game will tell you what to do. it starts out easy so you learn everything you need to know.

Pretty much which is waht happens. We had 12 against there 15 to start. Group one hit the stables and group 2 hit the mine and group 3 was mill I believe once stables was caught. I was in group two which got wiped before we could tag the mill. Since nothing had converted none of us could rez. Horde takes farm and now are able to rez. Stables finally pops and 30 sec later rez as stables is under assault. At this point Horde has 4 points to 0 with a score like 1200 or so to 90. As we rez we rush to attempt the stables or even bypass only to get wiped as we rez since all horde is now at the stables. Needless the game ended a minute or two later. At no point did I see anyone stationary and we were all attacking. The biggest problem I saw which I have always complained about is the level difference. Most of the Alliance was 43 and 44 while the Horde was 48, 49. For some reason people seem to think that level has very little difference in PVP but I say otherwise. Maybe they need to try battlegrounds in 5 level increments once you reach 40. All I know is at 44 if I come up against the 49 solo I am dead, if I come up and try to heal anyone which is mainly all I do in BG I am slaughtered in one or two hits. Oh well like I said I am done with BG as long as I won't even get a reward for trying.

It's been getting all these friggin patches....it better be worth this crap. Really annoying...I log in...then it says I have to restart...over and over. For more maps etc...Still loading it.

there should have only been 2 patches (one of which was released today)

Well I finally got in. Everyone was running around killing wolves. I try to give pelts to some guy who won;t take them. Kill wolves. Nice music. WIl try again when I have patience.

There should be 4, actually. The 250 MB patch to version 1.8. Then to 1.8.1. Then 1.8.3. And then 1.8.4.

The 1.8.4 patch currently only upgrades version 1.8.3, so you would need to go through each process.

Quite a few webpages host patches. FilePlanet, FileFront, FileShack. I prefer 3DGamers myself.

In regards to the 10 minute change in Battlegrounds, it looks like it won't be in 1.9. A post in the General forums explains the change (forums are currently down though).

hehe, I didn't mean 3-4 elites. I meant 3-4 regular mobs.

I know FilePlanet requires you to subscribe($) to them before you download, are any of the others free?

I thought you could download from FilePlanet for free, you just get put at the end of the queue if there are a lot of peoploe downloading the same thing
