Anyone try Star Wars Battlefront for PSP? I played it for a minute...I "tried" a copy. I thought it was pretty bad...bascially the control scheme annoyed me. Maybe because I played the XBOX version first. Graphically is was decent, but if I cannot control it, what's the point.

Did you try changing the control scheme? There are 4 different ones available under the options.

- Konami will release Gradius Portable for PSP in Japan on February 6, 2006. The game will contain Gradius I, II, III and IV; all four games can be played in the classic mode or enhanced mode (with updated graphics). The game also includes a gallery of music and movies from the four games.

Has anyone bought any used PSP games from Gamefly.com? They have a lot of them for $19.99. I am curious to what condition the umd's are in.

I bought two XBOX games from GameFly and they were MINT. Check Target, they have some of the launch titles on clearance (YMMV of course)

Just heads-up : Fry's has the GigaPack now for $299. I know, that's regular price, but they include the game Frantix with it, and I hear that game isn't too bad.

Also, they have Death Jr for $19.99. Though I haven't heard many good things about that game, at that price it's tempting for a platforming junkie like me.

Can someone help me with a mission on GTA LCS? Im stuck on

Spoiler:
One of Sal's missions in Staunton. Its the one where you have to control some guys car and run over gang members. At least thats what I think you have to do. Every time I try, the guy dies before Ive even killed half of them. Is there some strategy I'm missing? Ive been trying it for about 3 hours straight and havent come anywhere close.

There are a lot of PSP games on clearance at the 2 Targets I went to yesterday. I picked up Dynasty Warriors for $20.98, Dead to Rights for $14.88 and Rengoku for $14.88. Go ahead and laugh about Dead to Rights, I actually like the mindless shooting action. Rengoku probably sucks too but it was cheap and I cannot turn down a deal. They also had all of the launch sports games for $14.98, plus Lumines and Darkstalkers for 20.98.

The 2 other games that I wanted, Hot Shots Golf and Ape Escape are on sale for 32.98. Hopefully they will be on clearance soon.

I can confirm the Target sale also (I picked up Darkstalkers, Rengoku & Dynasty Warriors for $14.98 each. my store had Dead to Rights for $27.98 and World Tour Soccer for $20.98). There were 2-3 DS games for $9.98 also.

Also, DW also trades in for $27, while Rengoku gets $19 at GameRush. I did that....nice quick profit (combined with the trade 2 deal)

I can confirm this as well. I was in the York, Pa. Target this weekend...picked up Darkstalkers for $15 bucks. There were at least 7 or 8 games on clearance. With the KB sale still lingering...I'm going to end up with every damn launch title!

From CAG : Smokin' deal here. The month-old US version of NBA '06 is only $14.90 + $3 S+H at playasia.com. I wasn't really in the market, but that's too good a deal to pass on, if only for the mini-games. Reviews haven't been too bad, either.
I've never ordered from this site before, but several people at CAG seem pretty happy with them on other recent deals, so I took a shot.

I have bought quite a few imports from Playasia.com, and never had a problem with them.

I wouldn't mind getting one of these for Christmas. But I was wondering if the "dead pixel" issue is still an issue. Has this been corrected by Sony? Or is there still a chance I'd get one that had these.

Thanks to those of you who posted about the Target sale. I was able to pick up Darkstalkers and Dynasty Warriors for $14.98 each. They also had Lumines and the soccer game for $20.98 each, Gretzky Hockey and Tiger Woods for $14.98 each.

I haven't heard any complaints, but I'm sure there are still some issues. Dead pixels are a negative aspect of LCD displays and will always be a possible issue. But with the amount of PSPs available, it should be no issue with getting a replacement if you are dissatisfied with the PSP you get. Its a possible problem with any portable video devise.

I ordered one too. Anyone know what version firmware it requires, as I still have v1.5

Don't know, but since it's a recent release by SCEA, I'd guess 2.0.

Spoiler:
I got through that one on the second try, and my big problem with my first try is that I didn't understand (listen to) the mission and thought I was supposed to cause damage to the car I was taking over (and thus wrecked the car before I got to the other gang). IIRC, I just cruised through the area where the gang members were at a good speed, making several passes at them. I didn't linger there trying to take them all out. I just drove through at top speed nailing any of them I could, got to a safe spot, turned around and went through again. If I missed someone I just kept going so to not take any additional damage. Hope this helps.

Oh, and obvious but, try not to take on any damage getting there.

The Lord of the Rings: Tactics Strategy 7.7
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo Shooter 8.3
Star Wars Battlefront II Action 7.8
FIFA Soccer 06 Sports 7.4
The Con Fighting 6.2
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse Action RPG 8.4

I'm hoping that one of these games will entice me enough to buy it:

Kingdom of Paradise
Lord of the Rings: Tactics
Legend of Heroes
X-Men Legends II

SOCOM sounds like a killer app for the PSP. Headset support with 16 player multiplayer on a handheld? We are truly living in the future.... wait that doesn't make any sense!
