The ESRB has given Nintendogs: Holiday Edition an E rating according to IGN. Huh? Holiday Edition? Maybe Nintendo can get the game online through Wi-Fi in time for the holidays. Yeah, play on playa.

Nintendogs Chihuaha is $14.99 at Amazon.com right now...

Aww damn it... that's a great misprint/deal but I want this when it comes out, and with 2-day or 1-day delivery the cost goes up more than the Best Buy price.

It looks like standard shipping is free, but I'm with you. The Chihuaha version would be my 3rd choice, plus I want the game as soon as it's released.

edit: shipping showed up as free in the shopping cart, but it's not showing as free on the checkout page.

That's a nice deal for the Chihuaha version, I just ordered it. Although I had no plans to get this game, a nice deal like that + the decision I'm going to keep the DS and I actually need a game to play seals the deal.

Just beware, because Amazon usually doesn't honor misprices, though YMMV. I think this is coming from the Target affiliate anyway...

edit: 4.49 shipping??? plus tax too. Hmm...

I've read at some places that you can print that page out and get it price matched at Sears or Circuit City.

Well, I thought I was going to get it at Target... but for some reason I thought the free strap was a nintendogs specific one, not a Target one. ugh. Might just pick it up at Frys when I pick up Advance Wars there...

I did order a second one from Amazon, but if it doesn't ship on time, I'm cancelling. Otherwise, it becomes my wife's Nintendog.

Has anybody else picked this up yet? I went to gamestop with my girlfriend so she could buy it, but they said it hadn't been released yet. They said it would be out tomorrow and that we could reserve it. I drove across the street and picked it up at Walmart. It's sad when the only "games only" store in town doesn't even have games on release day, but that's another thread.

I didn't really get a chance to play the game as my girlfriend was playing. I was disappointed to find out that there aren't different "save slots," that is, I wasn't able to start up from scratch with a new dog different from my girlfriends. I'm hoping that when she gets enough money to buy a second dog, I'll be able to become it's trainer and play as if it were my own save slot.

The game is in real time, so you can't just sit down for hours on end training the dog. It will get tired and you'll have to wait until tomorrow. Like others have mentioned, it'll probably be like Animal Crossing where you pick it up and play for only an hour or so every day.

Well, I was hoping that you could have different save slots. It may force me to buy my own copy if I really get into the game. I am going to EB games to see if they have my preordered copy today.

Great review of the game from Amazon!

Found this while checking my order status at Amazon, and thought this was too funny, not to post here.

Not recommended. Wait for the PSP version of Nintendogs instead., August 22, 2005
Reviewer: Objective gamer - See all my reviews

I don't recommend this game, it is mediocre plain and simple. Instead gamers should wait for the PSP version of Nintendogs. Considering how much more powerful the PSP is, hardware-wise, compared to the DS, the PSP version of Nintendogs should be spectacular (meanwhile, the DS version of Nintendogs is, like I said, just mediocre).

But its going to be interesting to see how the 'touch' factor is handled on the PSP. My guess is that a touch-screen add-on will be included with the PSP version of Nintendogs.

My recommendation....wait for the PSP version of Nintendogs to come out. It will be worth the wait. Resist the urge to buy Nintendogs for the DS, wait for the PSP version to come out. That version should rock!

I thought that was a joke, but looking at the other reviews from this person I guess its legit and they are just crazy.

The PSP...BEST ELECTRONIC PICTURE BOOK YET INVENTED!!!, June 5, 2005
Games will always be the PSP's #1 killer app but I think using the PSP as an electronic picture book/slide show is killer application #2 for the PSP.
Electronic Picture Book? Oh well, I personally can't wait for the Xbox360 version of Nintendogs myself, but I will settle for the crappy DS version for now.

Whoa, wait... there aren't multiple save slots for more than one player? That blows!

Has anyone found this at Best Buy yet?

The BB ad says by Wednesday. YMMV when going there, as they usually want to keep the game from coming out before the date the ad says, so they can have some stock for the people following the ad. Of course, other times it seems like BB couldn't care less about the release date.

I just got this game, and AW: DS.

I just put it in, but it's cool how in watch mode, that's all I've done so far, you can grab a dogs tail and get the puppy to chase it over and over and when you tap on their nose they sneeze.

This is rather addicting! I have taught R.J. (male yellow lab) to sit, shake, and lie down so far.

Just barely messed around with it but my shih tzu Scully can sit and shake (paw). I met my wife's Chihuahua by doing the bark mode. She named her dog Beaner and already has like 70 trainer points. I've got like 25. I'll give the dog a break for a while and try to train some more. Hope people at work have their dogs tomorrow.

Great, it wouldn't listen to any of your commands, but would expect you to pamper it and the most you can hope for is it to bring you a dead mouse every once in awhile.

Where do I preorder?

My wife was a Petz fan for the PC. When I told her about Nintendogs she asked if their were cats too (like Petz) and her second question is if the Nintendog could have puppies. Overall my wife is really happy with the game and she wants to take it to work show all her friends.

Picked it up from EB and so far its fun. They said the demand was pretty high and they ran out of the Nintendogs bags. I preordered two games, but only received one bag. They basically said I was lucky to get that. So as usual I get great service at EB.

Not getting the second lunch bag isn't a super big deal, but that was the reason I ordered from EB instead of GameRush or somewhere selling it for $24.99.

So far I have played frisbee with the dog and I'm liking the game. Not something I will play non stop, but like Animal Crossing it looks to have some major addictive qualities to it.

BTW, I went with a Beagle and named it Toby (always liked that name from the Sherlock Holmes stories), but haven't figured out how to train it to kill yet. I'll keep working on it. That might be only in the Pit Bull edition though.

The EB Games I was at tonight they were telling people that they got an email stating that all pre-orders would be getting bags. They had another shipment of the lunch bags coming in.

Hmmm....I preordered two copies and didn't get a single bag. He might have forgotten though, I did. I'll ask them tomorrow.

Right now it is fun just watching Ko-Ko, my Chihuahua.

Anyone know how to get better at all the activities? I tried frisbee but it isn't that easy.
