The One/Only Nintendogs Thread

The lunch-bag you recieve if you pre-order from EB Games now includes a paw-shaped DS cleaning cloth. Evidently the three Nintendog titles are going to be strictly allocated so a pre-order might be merited. I'm sure Target and Best Buy will have plenty of copies but the lunch-bag is worth it for me (it's exclusive to EB).

I played with it at BB. The five minutes flew by, if that says anything. Still not sure if i'm getting it right away, there's tons of great DS games to play in my backlog, plus Advance Wars Dual Strike is coming out soon too, but I think i'm going to bite. seems pretty interesting

My wife and I preordered today. Looks like a very fun take on the old virtual pet idea. I'm willing to give it a try. I also want Advance Wars though.

I got a Nintendog plush at E3 that came with a paw for my cel phone, but damn thats cool they're offering a lunch bag as well, I'd so rock that at work You know I love Nintendo but because of this game and my excitement people have been looking at me strangely at work, customers and co-workers are looking at me like Im gay or something. Not that theres anything wrong with that Im just not gay....no really.

A lot of my friends are very anxious for this one. I played the demo at Targét and now I can see why and I HATE DOGS. With great passion. My first instinct was to kick the shit out of them but they were so cute that I ended up succumbing to the petting and frisbee throwing.

The best part of Nintendogs is if you hate dogs you can at least abuse your pet and not go to jail. There is something for everyone.

Does anyone know if the preorder bonus gifts are offered at EBGames.com?

LOL! I'm exactly the same. I hate dogs. but i tried this out of curiosity and all the positive opinions its been getting. It does grow on you. Seems like it would have that animal crossing kind of gameplay, where you play it everyday for short amounts. I was very impressed with the responsiveness of the dogs.

That's encouraging. I hate all pets, but this game calls out to me for some reason.

They were up until just recently. It looks like now they're no longer offering them.

If you don't want the giftcard, there's also a five dollar off coupon for nintendogs in Best buy's Gamepro supplement, free at all BBs that still have them. Although now I'm curious what the "skin" looks like.

I'm also wondering which one to get... I don't know all the breeds, so it's hard for me to pick.

fujishig, all breeds are available eventually in all versions.. the difference in the versions is which dogs you can start with.

Ah, I had thought, similar to pokemon, that you needed to interact with others with the other cartridges in order to "catch them all." If that's not the case, then great! I don't know a single other person with a DS...

I think interacting makes it faster to get all the breeds, but you should be able to get them all by simply playing the game and building up points and finding items in the game.

I played the demo and it rocked. Seriously, it was amazing how life-like the dogs were.

I just got back from pre-ordering this game (Lab version) at EBGames. I went about doing so much differently this time though.

When Nanostray came out, I accidently ended up with three copies of it. I kept one for myself, and I had two still sealed copies. I called that store multiple times asking about Nanostray, and it ended up that they just weren't going to get it in there, ever. The guy I talked to knows me, since I go into the store so often, so he can match my voice with me in person. I went in last week, just to look around, and he asked me about Nanostray. I told him how I ended up with two still sealed copies of it, and he offered to buy it from me.

Anyway, he pre-ordered Nintendogs for me in exchange for Nanostray.

For the record, I also pre-ordered Advance Wars while I was at it. This Tuesday can't come fast enough!

For the love of God, please tell me they aren't actually airing this commercial on TV!

http://gameads.gamepressure.com/tv_g...al.asp?ID=2854

That is quite possibly the worst commercial for a video game of all time.
