Well that is a minor disappointment to see a few classes missing. I was really looking forward to playing a medic as opposed to a support character.

As much as I'd LOVE to take credit for this kill, it wasn't me

Just got this game and it's really impressive, no doubt.

i know others have posted before, but come on why use the squad, what why do we need a commander! they don't know what the hell they're doing they should just get in a tank and jump into a fire fight!

i love this game i really do, but the only thing that is missing is the 12 year olds screaming, but i know they're all on xbox live.

i jumped into a server tonight, and everyone on my team was in a squad and i think they were mostly people who knew each other cause everytime the commander gave an order the squad did it the round was over in 6 minutes. its too bad i don't have money comming outta my ass i'd rent a server for the dvd talkers i really hate kids, unless they're 18 blonde 105lbs and female.

Commander is real nice, more so if people listen to him. I play a mix of both commander and not and the game is great.

On the PC does the commander get an overhead view of the battlefield or is it just like a class with the power to call in reinforcements and supplies and such (ie. still in the first person perspective)?

As well as commander you can zoom down to visual level in the map, real nice to place supplies and such.

I'm assuming there will be this feature in the console version? It looks pretty cool to have someone able to coordinate the army with an overhead view.

there you go xmiyux you could be in control of a bunch of screaming 12 year olds. "NO MY TANK MY TANK" "NO WAY MAN ITS MY JET GET AWAY YOU RETARD!!!"

yeah it will be fun though on the console with the dvd talk guys playing, but man i wouldn't touch commmander in matchmaking for anything!

if anyone is a good pilot fly over MARTIN5's place and drop some bombs that'd be cool! just make sure his roommate is home.

Heh, well if we got a large enough squad of clanmates going between Let Us Win and assorted DvdTalk regulars we wouldn't have to deal with 12 year olds. And if they i do have to deal with kids pissing me off - well the commander gets to call in air strikes right?

I just turned all the settings for this game on high and wow. The game kicks even more ass now. Looks so good. Easier to shoot people to I think. My shots have been more dead on then they were on medium/low. Not sure why. I didn't think my PC would run it on because I had a lot of lag with only 512mb of ram. But I bumped it up to a gig and now I can play no problems. The graphic settings don't have anything to do with the connection lag do they?

The ram was the problem. You really need a minimum of 1 gig to run this game on high settings. 1.5 - 2 gig is preferable. The page file for bf2 uses around 1.25 gig of ram on a machine with 2 gig of ram on high settings.

It's possible, but not officially supported. You have to manually enter the IP address of the hosting computer.

There's lots of empty servers out there. We should just take one over.

The cost of an unranked 32 person server is about $80 a month. A ranked 32 person server runs about $140 a month. I wouldn't mind chipping in for a server, but Ryo's plan would probably work better. There are tons of empty servers out there.

We just have to plan to be online at the same time and hook up over xfire or something.

I'll play too...as soon as my internet service gets re-connected on Wednesday. We recently moved and they "forgot" to move the DSL service. I've been playing off-line and am looking forward to trying the game online.

Ryo's plan would be cheap, too bad we can't pay in to DVD Talk a few bucks a month and have them set up a server for us or something like that. If I had the cash I'd do it everyone here I've gamed with are great people. Have a couple Mods from the fourm be the Admins or something.
