I swear, Nintendo could come out come out saying their new console gives you brain cancer, HIV, and the Ebola virus and some people on this board would say, "This is so revolutionary! Nintendo is making the gaming experience more interactive!"

At some point in time you have to realize that you are going to like anything Nintendo throws your way, and I'm going to like everything Sony throws my way. It is the inherent style of the companies we like more than the actual products that come of it.

Dude, GO AWAY. All you have done is bash Nintendo in this entire thread. Leave. Go hang out in the Sony thread and praise the PS3 and PSP.

If you actually read the posts in this forum you will see we are all critical of Nintendo when we don't like their products and games. I personally was not impressed with the GBA Micro and said so when I posted the pic. That doesn't mean they shouldn't release it though. They believe there is a market for it and they want to boost GBA sales.

The only person that would buy the Ebola console is you if Sony put it out.

None of the three companies are anywhere close to perfect. They are all out for profit and will do anything in their power to get it.

Not only that, it shows Third partys the GBA is still alive, and to still produce games for it. C'mon, you really think Nintendo is going to launch the GBA Micro at $100? I expect to see this for $59.99 tops.

Guys, just IGNORE joshd2012 for crying out loud. You'll find the Nintendo and Microsoft threads MUCH more enjoyable when you do. By constantly baiting his passively pompous posts you're only spilling more garbage into the thread.

Haha... yes, all I have done is bash Nintendo. I say that because of its smaller size, the Revolution is going to have less power than its bigger rivals. Pixy acts like I don't know what I'm talking about and then surpisingly enough Nintendo comes out claiming "2-3x GameCube" when Sony and MS are claiming dozens of times more powerful. Is it really bashing if you tell the truth?

Some of you may see a market for the Micro beyond Nintendo's loyal, but I don't. I am intitled to that opinion. By trying to reach for a comparison to the PSOne and PSTwo, you are directly trying to attack me - otherwise, why not point to something similar, like a PDA or cell phone? But alas, it had to be directed at me because I don't like the Micro.

Its nice to gang up on the industry leader (hell... there is a thread dedicated to bashing the looks of the PS3 going on right now), but how soon we forget when Nintendo was at the helm and nearly destroyed every gaming rival out their with their monopolistic exclusivity policy. This thread is not a comparison between companies, it is a discussion about the new products.

Can someone host or shack the GBA/GBM comparison picture? Nintendo J is being blocked for me.

Yawn. Like I said a LONG time ago, you think you are a god and can not be wrong. Get over yourself. I'll be skipping past all of your future messeges.

PixyJunket 05-18-05 09:56 AM

Thanks Max! Wow, that's small. I'll want to actually hold one before I decide if I want it. The new screen is what I'm interested in, not the portability.. not sure how much of a difference the smaller screen will make. I also noticed it's still only got one speaker, so maybe I should just buy a DS after all for my GBA games.

Yes. My opinion gets attacked and I am the one who can't be wrong. That makes perfect sence... IN BIZARO WORLD!

The Seinfeld episode with Bizaro Jerry was on last night....

Sorry, just trying to lighten up the mood a bit.

Well, there were definitely some good and bad announcements here. I like the downloadable games idea, but only if the price is right. I won't pay anywhere near the $20 they're currently asking for the NES Classics releases, though. Actually, I'd probably balk at $5. There are a few N64 games I'd pay $5 to play, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't like the mention of no HD support. Gamecube actually has quite a few progressive scan and/or widescreen games, and I assumed they'd be continuing with that. I'd figured that the removal of the digital video port from the Gamecube was just a bad judgment call, not a sign of the future.

Just wanted to point some things out, like the above. To my knowledge Nintendo released no info on what this machine does or how it works, or even any screen shots. How do you know what it is and isn't capable of? Crystal ball? Iwata's long lost twin that he now confides in? Kaplan's secret lover? Give me a break, Nintendo is the only company NOT blowing happy smoke up the public's ass on their new machine.

How is comparing the GBA/Micro to the PSX/PSOne or the PS2 revisions wrong? So Sony releases a smaller system and it is cool(PS1). Sony releases a slimmer PS2 and that is cool. Nintendo releases a smaller GBA and they are the bane of existense. Right. Welcome to 2005, there is a market for small gadgets.

Back on topic (thank God), there are new screens of Zelda doing the rounds and I'm glad to see that with the next "extreme" graphics, it looks like they're trying to capture the expressiveness of Wind Waker as best as they can, lots of different facial animation on Link. I was worried that was going to be lost in the new game but really glad to see it still there (though obviously not as vivid or animated I'm sure).

I really liked the way link looked in his non-hero outfit. It did seem to have a lot of the WW charm still in it, which is a very good thing.

You mean like you do with Sony?

Pot, meet Kettle.

Artman 05-18-05 01:11 PM

Anyone any less excited about Zelda:Twilight because it won't be a next-gen game? Personally I'd rather wait an extra yr and have it come out on the Rev. Just seems that with all the widescreen, HD games that are being previewed right now, anything less doesn't really impress me. Of course it's yet to be determined if Rev will feature WS, HD games...

I'll still get it (for hopefully $35 or so) and of course graphics aren't everything and I'd take a fun game over a pretty one any day - but since the main attraction (so far) is the updated, more realistic visual style...it's lost a bit of it's luster imo.

Michael Corvin 05-18-05 01:14 PM

^^ Nah. They will or are already working on one for the Revolution. They need all they can get on the GC while they still can. With it being the main attraction this year they don't want a dead system with a year left in its life.

Nope exactly opposite.

I'm so excited about Zelda that I don't care about the next gen consoles.

No, graphics do not make a game.
