Close Combat: First to Fight....any interest??
I am intrigued by this game.....the screenshots look incredible. I am a big fan of Full Spectrum Warrior, and this looks like a FPS Full Spectrum Warrior. Just wondering what people thought about the game....there doesn't seem to be much hype over it. It is set to release tomorrow. What are your thoughts?

Well I've only seen adds here and there. Nothing really solid. They do however have a web site and I must say the trailer looks very good. The movement of the players look very fluid and the buildings are very detailed. According to the site nearly 40 real and active Marines were consultants on this.
Since you're a war game buff you might also look at Delta Force-Black Hawk Down. from what I've seen this is based on the true story of Black Hawk Down. The surroundings and all are all there. The helicopter crash and you have to rescue. going thru the streets with everyone shooting from all points. This has the ability to have an astonishing (50) players at once online! Check out both sites.

For me it's Unreal Championship 2 that I'm waiting for. After tyhat Pariah or one these look interesting.

On top of the Halo Live bit we just had SW-Republic Commando. Project Snowblind came but didn't filled the need. Brothers In Arms was and still is well received. The new Splinter Cell game just came out and it has several high reviews. Doom 3 came out this week and it has it's own following. Jade Empire is around the corner and allot of people are looking forward to it. Unreal Championship is coming out mid April. Two other FPS games that have allot of promise Pariah and Area 51 are due out between now and late May.
I don't think it's a lack of interest as much as too many choices to make. I mean that's a pretty good assortment to choose from. Throw in Summer is around the corner and I myself have several home projects to tackle so time comes into play. If either of these were released say Jan or Feb then both would've got more attention and talk.

I'm interested as well. I,ve had my eye on this one for a while but thought it was coming out in a week or two. I just bought Doom Yesterday and don't know if I can swing another 50 right now. I will be getting it though as long as the reviews don't suck.

I always like a good FPS, but after Doom 3, I may wait on any more. I think Rainbox Six:Lockdown looks to be the best one coming out in the future. I still like Halo2 (LIVE play is still fun). Timesplitters:FP is also fun, but I cannot convince any of my friends to buy it.
We'll see how this game progresses though.....

Back on topic:
It looks interesting. IIRC the Close Combat games were multi-squad based tactics games, ala Full Spectrum but with more men per unit and more units. This looks like some combination of Full Spectrum & FPS ala Rainbow Six. That could be very interesting. With luck you'll have lots of options for completing missions.

I swear, it HAS to take more effort to type like that than it does to actually type in english. Or maybe I'm overestimating the abilities of a lot our youth these days.
Maybe the reviews will hit tomorrow. Seems kind of fishy though. Has anyone actually found this in stores yet?

Again getting back to the topic check out TeamXbox site on this. They have allot more info and game detail than Gamespot and IGN.
http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox/93...t-To-Fight/p1/
If nothing else the detail alone is outstanding. The uniforms are the most detailed I've seen period in awhile. I get the feel this isn't just another war FPS being released.

I worry about some kids who neglect their education. It really is bad news for all of us. Also, there is no way someone would type like that with two hands...this has to be with two fingers.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this game even though it is a break-away from the usual "Close Combat" franchise.
It seems to be very technical which is how I like these types of war games. I'll reserve my twitch-trigger finger for Unreal Championship 2.
Also, I enjoyed the concept of Full Spectrum Warrior -- tactical squad combat in the 3rd person. However, this seems to be similar but in the 1st person so I'll give this a try.
