I wonder, does the ambush happen in the same area? Are you getting sniped in the same place? Or does this change from game to game?
It definately seems to be scripted although occasionally you'll run into enemies at different locations based on which way around an obstacle you take and I guess on how much noise you are making/whether or not you "attract" them. Regarding the ambush I was talking about, it was always the same place and I knew where it was coming from I just could never get the proper angle before I got hit. It finally occured to me to send in the team first and let AIs battle it out Later on in the game there's similar situations so much so it just got tedious IMHO (which I fully admit could have as much to do w/ my skill at the game as the design of the game). Although there also seems to be another bug in the game where sometimes you can be dead on target put an entire clip into an enemy and nothing happens.

Where are you buying your games that allow you to return after opening it?
I didn't buy it... I finally got fed up w/ blowing $20-$30 on games I didn't really like so I'm using the Hollywood Video "game pass" thing ($20/mn for 1 game out at a time). I usually keep a game for a couple of days and it gives me enough of a feel for it to determine whether or not I want to buy it later when it hits the

I'll be getting this on the PC if I ever decide to get it.
Thanks for the feedback.

Well I bit the bullet yesterday and bought this despite the the infamous "2.8 Review from OXM". I am on the 4th or 5th stage....I don't see how anyone could rate this game a 2.8. I would rate it about the same way that IGN rated it -- a solid 8.0. I was also expecting terrible graphics....sure its no Doom 3 but they aren't too shabby for this type of game. I was disappointed in your men's running animation...it looks a little unnatural. I think that the AI is pretty decent...I do like not having to "babysit" your men. The enemy will also ambush you and they will try to flank you if they can. I will say if you are not a fan of Full Spectrum Warrior and/or Brothers In Arms -- you will hate this game. It is VERY strategic and slow moving. Which is great for me, I enjoy a good realistic military simulation. Basically what I want to get across is don't let the 2.8 review scare you off from this game...it isn't for everyone but that review is total crap IMHO.
