don't be sorry, the weekends are playing time for everyone, and you can probably catch me on mondays, thursdays, and one weekend night. just bake the wife some cookies with sleeping pills in em then you can have halo all night. :wave:

To help on tracking what day and time everyone can play is to list their time zones. It's so easy to glance at your friends list and ask where's so & so? I haven't seen them in God knows when. I never see them on. I"ll turn on the box like 8pm and see nobody or maybe just one from our bunch. With guys like "meladdin" and "TurdFurgeson64" on the west coast and "Bean" and "Martin" on the east coast theres a (3) hour difference. Sometimes one hour can make a difference. I'm on Central time so I'm kind of in the middle. I'm just trying to find an easier way of knowing when some others will be on.

i agree time zones suck. anyhow i'll be on tomorrow night around 10 EST. and come on at least 3 others be on if you can, we need to get our asses kicked in some clan matches by 12 year olds or something.

I usually try to play between 7 and 9 pacific (10-12 EST) cause I know a lot of you are on the east coast.

I think we should just set up a time we all should play. I'm thinking 1 or 2 times a week plus fri. and sun. That way we are more likely to find each other online if we have set times to play.

What do you guys think?

i agree, i'm usually on monday nights after 10:30 EST and thursday nights same time. then sunday and one of the weekend nights, but sometimes neither depends on if i'm going out or what.

I agree as well but in situations like I am in now, it's not possible for me to play and I can't predict when it's going to happen, I'm in Detroit for work now I was going to play last night but I got sent up here, I should be home tomorrow so I will be on around 7-8 EST and I will probably play all night depending on how many willing DVDTalk members are on. Otherwise I can try to set aside a few days every week to play at set times but keep in mind I may not always be able to make it on.

Detroit sucks. anyhow i'll be on tonight so if anyone else is thats cool. if i'm not playing halo i'll be playing republic commando, but if you send a party invite it will let me know anyhow so do that if you want to play halo.

So I was playing some matchmaking Rumble Pit last night, and I think I've hit a wall. I was at level 8 and I cannot even compete with the people I'm matched up against. I was getting so frustrated. After a few 6th place finishes I'm now back at level 7.

Any tips on how to get better? If I see you guys online tonight, I'll join you.

use rumble training for at least an hour a day, then you'll be decent enough not to come in last. when i hit 8 in the pit i got stuck and haven't been wining much, but i play training at least 2 hours a day now then go in and do well

Yeah man it was cold as shit out on the test track today. Anyhow I'm in Detroit usually like once a week or so, and not usually in the inner city although our corporate headquarters is. On Wednesday I was in Auburn Hills at the Chrystler Technical Center, and today I was in Milford at the GM Proving grounds. I also spend a lot of time at Ford Dearborn, GM Warren, and Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor. So I get around your area quite a bit and cover a lot of ground.

Turd, all I can say to help you get better is think about what your doing before you step into a firefight with someone, look at your radar to see if someone else is coming, alot of the time I will wait until I see two people duking it out and I will throw a grenade and then spray them with my smg I will at the very least get one kill this way but quite often i get double kills like this. use the best weapon combos for the respective map, for example if you are playing on midship and you don't have the sword or the rocket launcher make damn sure you have dual plasmas and once again don't go into open spaces to fight someone there will be a ton of fucks just like me waiting for you to bring down your shields fighting someone one on one and then they will take you out no problem, also on midship it's pretty easy to keep tabs on the sword so do it, and if you have the sword put that bitch away until you are going to use it, if people see it on you they will team up to kill your ass. On any map where you have the opportunity to snipe don't use the damn thing right where you picked it up you will die for sure. take it and run to your favorite hideout and pick people off all day long but be sure to move from place to place and also don't stay zoomed in too long or someone will sneek up on you, so check your radar often when you have the rifle and try to equip yourself with something to fight with if someone finds your location. There is a ton more shit I could list but then I would just be rambling on so if you have any specific questions just ask.

I went on just for a short time last night and I saw TF64 and one other and that's it. Of course "LUW" had a bunch going in big team I think. Don't know if I'll be on tonight since I've got to be in early (6am) and go to Knoxville. If not tonight any night this weekend. Ya'll make the call.

I'll try to get in "training" more be it alone or teamate like "TF64". I prefer "team" base anyway. I've got a couple of things I need to work on and some questions. One is what options to use against a sword carrier. That blasted sword causes at least a 1/3 of my deaths. I'm trying to get a better idea of the range as well so to time a jump, grenade, or something. Anyhow whoever has an idea when they'll be on this weekend post it or just send a message.

The best way to get a sword guy is to stick 'em. Or else shotgun. But sticking if you are good at it.

i like to take the battle rifile to the sword guy, a few shots to the head and sword man is dead, but some people have a hard time aiming in combat so whatever works. after playing some more squad based games this week, i still think it a good idea to have a partner and move in a pair. its a fact that a squad will take out randoms all over the map. anyhow i work sat night, but should be on after work.

the best thing you can do with the sword guy is keep your distance, run backwards away from him and, if you have dual magnums/plasmas, you can take him down no problem at all, When you have the sword make sure you don't make the mistake the guy you took it from did by running in the open. make sure you stick to a confined space where you can easily jump out and get a kill and then jump right back in. on Midship I like to go down to the spot where you pick up the frag grenades and wait for someone to approch on the radar, there are two openings in this area, and it's easy to get quick kills, but hard as hell for someone to get in there and kill you, basically the only thing they can do is throw fragmentation grenades and you are gaurding them. on foundation it's good to go into one of the rooms, people in rumble pit are total tools and they are itching to spawn kill someone who only has one weapon inevitably when they see you on their radar they are going to run directly in assuming they will get a quick kill, but after you shove your sword up their ass they will realize the error of their ways, I usually give them a quick hump afterwards just so they feel "raped" :hump:

i just wanted everyone to know why i haven't been on the last couple days is because i got that new star wars republic commando game and i've been working a lot all week. so i've been playing that through and being tired. all i have to say is if you don't have it and you can afford $50 then go get the damn thing. i haven't liked a game this much since halo 1.

Well that's just great! Add another good game to the ever growing list of "Got-a-get". It's bad enough as is but it's about to get worse on making these choices. I don't know what everyone else has going but here's mine:

LOTR-Return of the King - 2/3 finished characters
Crimson's Sky - finished but some online play
Top Spin - 1/2 thru career mode
KOTOR - haven't started
Rallie Sport 2 - 2/3 thru career mode

I'm dead set on getting "Unreal Championship 2" no matter what. I haven't cranked up the pc version in about a year. Plus the Xbox has filled in nicely. But I mean look at what's here and coming shortly:

Jade Empire, Brothers In Arms, Rainbow Six Broken Arrow, Doom, Republic Commando, Unreal Championship 2, and Project: Snowblind

And here's some serious food for thought concerning "team" online play. I just hit Gamespot and there's a trailer for no other than - "Stargate"! One can only think of all the online possibilities with that game. This is going to be one busy gaming year.

um you want to start passing out old games to clan members? ha ha. i've beat a few of those. halo 1, lotr, topspin, ralli2, republic commando. i'm waiting for unreal2 to be out. i really wanted to play crimson but after i bought it i played some and it made me sick to my stomach, something about those flying games. the ending of lotr SUCKS i was hoping for somthing different but just the same old same.

i'll be on sunday night around 8 - 9 EST give or take a half hour, i should be on before that but i'll be playing rallisport 2, so if you have it send an invite and we'll race, but halo time is later.

Sorry Bean I didn't get back in Rallisport after I left. The real reason I even got on there was I had a problem with my Halo disc. I got the "Green" screen of Windows "Blue" version of death. It was trying to load and I got a disc error. At first I thought it was the Xbox so I just grabed the closet game which was Ralli to test. I ended up doing some of the challenges which I like.

I did get Halo up and going and ended up in Rumble training. I haven't played at all in a week so I needed to catch up. I'll look for you Bean around 8-9 your time (7-8 mine). Hopefully we can get at least four of us on at one time. See ya tonight.
