Question about mounts: Can you fight from them? can they fight? can they get killed? do you need to feed them like the hunter has to feed his pet?

The answer to all those questions is NO.

So they basically just make you go faster? When you get into battle do you have to dismount? Does you mount just hang around and wait for you to win or die?

Sorry for buggin' with the easy questions, I so wish the world of warcraft site wasnt blocked here at work, eventhough i trust you people here more.

Mounts are for speed only. I haven't been around them enough to notice, but I think they disappear when you dismount (similar to the non-combat pets).

yeah, they appear/disappear. seems pretty instantaneous. they let you travel fast... as well as looking cool - yeah, that's right! i'm shallow :D i will get one as soon as i hit 40 (and have enough money)

it takes about 2 secs to mount.
dismount is instant.

what is the best place to find a group for scarlet monastery?
I've only been there once was was lucky enough to find a group at Hillsbrand foothills. most of time, its difficult to find a full group to go there.

My wife just called and told me about playing WoW. Soon she'll have more hours invested in it that I. We only have one computer that can run it.
What would be the cheapest computer that could be put together that could play WoW?

I've found that hanging around Ironforge, you can find a group for almost anywhere. They should rename that place Lagforge. :(

lol, yeah, sometimes, when i log in to ironforge or walk in the first time, it's crazy. can barely walk and i've fallen into the central channel a couple of times b/c i had autorun on.

but, i've found that IF is my favorite place to be; got all the stuff i need + the Auction House and it's a nice central location to other places. made my hearthstone go to an inn there.

lots of people there so parties form all the time*. and... i will conquer Gnomergan! :mad: ooh, i hate that dungeon.


*ok, a couple of times, i got bit by damn greedy players. i mean, greedy guys who start grabbing treasure while there's mob still attacking or leaving after they grab their quest items and not helping others finish. :rolleyes:

Gnomeregan sucks, that place took me so many damn tries. Make sure you have a full party and watch out for those Mobile Alarm guys, they make life hell if they see you. I was so happy once I finished it knowing I'd never have to go back there again. :)

Woo, I found a good spot to farm leather last night so I was able to make enough money to pick up my mount. Here are a couple of pics of my new baby.

Where is the quest to get the Uldaman instance?
Does the quest start in the badlands?
From the maps, it looks like there is no alliance town in badlands.
so the nearest inn is loch modan - is this correct?

There are a couple quests in the Badlands that you can pick up for Uldaman. If I recall, there is also one in the excavation site in Loch Modan for Uldaman as well. Yes, there are no Alliance towns in the Badlands, so you'll have to run south from Loch Modan.

7am EST. Which means if the 16 hour figure is accurate (ha!) the servers will be down until 11pm EST.

I want to play this game so badly but I can't find it anywhere. :( Anybody know any online stores that have it in stock? None of my local places expect to have one for me anytime soon.

It's basically OOP at the moment. The game sold far quicker than anybody expected. I saw some for sale at the Amazon marketplace, might try there.

If you're really desperate, EBGames "found" some copies of the collector's edition and is now selling them for $150 a pop. :eek:

:eek: :eek: Yeah, I saw the Amazon marketplace sellers, but they're asking $75-$95 on the regular copies. I'd rather wait to find one at $50 if I can.

This is so frustrating. I know so many people that are playing this and having a great time. I want to play too!

The official Blizzard store recently got the game back in stock, either this morning or yesterday. So you may want to try ordering from there if other retailers are reporting it unavailable.

There isn't a way to purchase individual keys.
