I've been checking the gamertag list and sending an invite to everyone who has this games listed (as well as Burnout 3). I'm hoping to find a few more mature gamers to play with. I had one game where some wang was teamkilling and talking about it and another one where we had a group of like 6 people and everyone was cool. In the group of 6 we played like 2.5 hours and had a great time because even though it was just 3 on 3 there was little lag and no matter who you teamed with they were all nice. That will make this game fun. So send me an invite!
I saw you online but your game was full. I tried several times(to join you) while playing other games but you guys were locked up.

I was really looking forward to this game, and am surprised that I didn't buy it day one.

But after playing the demo from the trilogy boxset, and my roommate's PS2 copy, I think I might wait until it hits $20.

I picked it up. Takes some getting used to but it's pretty fun.

There was some audio skipping on the menu music after I got the tar beat out of me during the Battle of Bespin though. Just might be my PS2.

I played for another couple hours and have a problem. Hosts dropping the game once they start getting whipped. I had about 3-4 games dropped last night, and another where it was a group of friends trying to boot everyone but themselves. Set up a private game morons if you don't want others in it. Sheesh.

I just do quickmatch and I'd say 95% of the time it is always CIS vs. the Republic. Were is the love for the Empire and Rebels? I played as CIS once last night and couldn't stand it.

i got it for the PC, i figured with all the problems people have been mentioning, it might be worth it to get it on PC where you can download patches for the game. overall its been pretty fun. i've been using the dark troopers a lot.

OK, I have a question:
I'm getting the game at EB Games. They have a rebate where if you buy the game and the strategy guide, they'll mail a $15 voucher (like getting the guide for "free"). Do you think there's any need for the guide, or should I just hang onto my money?

Decker,
I think the universal answer to your question is..

You have the internet, why do you need a guide?

Hey guys. Are any of you thinking that the single player could have benefitted from a little more "structure". You know, things like more clearly defined objectives (other than "capture the command post"), little more intricate squad commands, better presentation, those kind of things.

It's a good game, just the single player seems a little on the chaotic side.

Okay, I had a little better experience this afternoon. Some serious platform fighting on Kamino (I love the jet pack trooper) made up for some bad experiences.

I'm still getting a lot of lag, but I just jump out of the game if it's bad and try another.

It seems XBOX games today are making half assed single player and with the idea that most will want to go online. I know I buy games based on being able to go Live...

With that said, I like the single player game. I'm not a hardcore gamer so that may figure into my like of the game.

The Jet Pack Clone Trooper equiped with the EMP rifle kicks ass! Maybe it's just me but he seems to stay in the air longer than the Dark Trooper.

So if i see someone on my buddy list is online playing the game is there a way i can try to instantly join his game? When i click on his name it just kept giving me options to remove him from my list - maybe he wasn't in a game yet? (this is on Live btw)

Yes, if they're playing Battlefront. I joined in with "shap attack" a few days ago.

btw, sorry for the friendly fire shap.

It does rock. The Dark Trooper's jet pack only boosts his jump. The Clone Trooper can actually fly, hover and gain altitude.

It's awesome on Kamino.

I think you hit the nail on the head. This is pretty much designed to be an "online" game.

Yes he was playing Battlefronts according to the listing. Sheesh, what do you think I can't read? I mean it's not like i would get all confused over a demo disc for the PS2 instead of the Xbox! :P

I'll have to try it again tomorrow, but so far my impression of the Xbox version is this...

Battlefront is a pile of steaming festering shit with maggots and mushrooms. Worst net-code ever. This one is more unfinished and buggy than True Crime or that Bruce Lee game. The AI sucks, the net play is garbage, the single player is pointless. I like BF1942 and I even kinda like BF Vietnam, and I can see this possibly being fun if they had finished making it. I heavily regret not getting the PC version instead of this mess. Hopefully they are going to release some sort of XBL patch - otherwise, I'm selling this asap and staying away from Lucasarts forever. This release was the last straw for them after cancelling Sam and Max and Full Throttle etc... but whatever, gotta make a release date.

I also fully agree with the poster who complained about the people talking. Half the people on this game don't know how to use their mic and it's a nuisance and a headache. Worst game I've played so far this year. If it's not possible to patch up the net code and fix it so the game doesn't constantly crash, then it's complete rubbish.
