It's not like I'm going to beat the Flicky score any time this year.

And I never liked Qix. I stayed away from that game like the plagued.

OK, we're at the weekend people. If you get a high score now, start naming what you want to play next week. Deadline to submit scores is midnight Sunday night. I think devilshalo is on the record for Congo Bongo, not sure about the other two. (praying PixyJunket doesn't pick Wonderboy in Monsterland)

Well here goes:

Assuming that pixy doesn't come back and obliterate this score I pick:

Gokujyou Parodius (There's an english version of this, but it has issues with MAME). According to my docs, this game was done in 1994, and should be allowable. If it's too new, then I nominate Nibbler instead.

Good choice! Parodius was one of the games I had in mind (though a slightly earlier version). 10 years is the minimum I set in the first thread, so it just makes the cut. We could get some interesting screenshots from that drugged out looking game.

I'll pick Rampage if my score holds up. It's one of the few 80s arcade games I remember playing, there was one arcade within about 50 miles of were I grew up and they only had a hand full of games.

Cool, I hope these scores hold up. I like all 3 game selections right now.
Congo Bongo
Gokujou Parodius!
Rampage

For good measure.

Is this a better screenshot Roto?

Please don't take my name off!

Didn't get a snap of when I died. 4x bonus helped a lot. On the first round with two Qix something weird happened. Both Qix stopped moving around they were both around the edges and spinning eratically (so you couldn't get close), but they were staying in one place. I was able to fill in about 30% before deciding I better split them before they decided to move again. If this score holds up I choose Gyruss.

Edit: It's hard to see, but that score is 93408 the other score is because I exited without getting a screencap (must have hit the wrong key) and it puts some weird crap up for the score until you've played a game.

Looks like 93406 to me
Damn Mordred and his last minute rallies! Now I'm probably going to be the only one whose name gets taken off this week. I'm done with all 3 of these games. I didn't really get close in any of them. No matter how many times I try Flicky I always lose a t least a couple guys by the end of round 10.

You may be right, Qix uses a weird font

And this wouldn't have been a last minute rally if I could have come up with that score earlier in the probably 5 wasted hours I've devoted to Qix since Friday afternoon :P
