I got the email to go to the training mission in Austin, but because of prior commitments, I can no longer go.

I can't wait. I lucked out and I'm in Northbrook for work this week and I will be able to attend the training event tonight in Schamburg.

And, once again, I can't participate. Near the end of the A.I. game, the core players were given free passes to see the movie at select locations. None of them were near Cleveland, sadly.

But it should be one hell of an event, so if you can make it to any of these locations (and you have the moxy to get in ), I heartily encourage it.

I was able to attend the event in Chicago.
They played a audio clip and then randomly selected folks to play multi-player Halo 2. I was selected to play on the theater big screen on Live with the other cities. Can't say that I am great player though. I heard them call out KirstenS later in the night. They also gave away copies of Halo 2 and X-Box Live.

I was at the S.F. location.

Event was held 3rd floor at the Metreon:

Some people were pretty serious about this, heh:

Kristen Rutherford, who played the voice of Durga. Had a nice little chat with her, she's a cutie:

They had an 8 person LAN set up for gamin':

Buzzzzz:

Freebees, gotta love em!

I'll post some in game videos for you guys in a bit. The multi-player rocked!

The disc is what they were handing out. I don't have an X-Box with me to put it in but it is just the wav files from the I Love Bees site.

Yeah that's the same disc they handed out at the other sites too (the non-"combat simulation" locations). It's all the wav files plus additional ones they didn't use. Also, photos and concept stuff from the development of the "I Love Bees" game. Pretty cool.

I was hoping that it would have the website on the disc also.
I enjoyed listing to the creepy sounds on the site.
I saw some folks with some cool I Love Bees shirts. I checked on the Cafe stores but didn't see any black t-shirts. Does anyone know where to get those?

You heard right. I got to play. I seriously kicked ass, and that made me feel a whole lot better about playing on Live. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to hang in there with the big boys.

No copies of Halo 2 for me, but I'm just happy I got to play, got the ilovebees DVD, and got to hang out with the crazy beekeepers at Denny's until 2 in the morning. Much fun last night. I can't wait until Tuesday!

We made those. Printed them out at home and used iron ons.

Could I get a copy of the file? Or buy a shirt?
I was reading on the other forum that you guys were looking for a internet connection. I should have come up. I was carring my wireless WAN card for a laptop. I can't say that I did to well playing on Live last night but it was fun.

It's a DVD with all the wav files from the ilovebee's story edited together with chapter markers. Also has some other ilovebee's goodies on it.

Pretty cool freebee.

I don't what the hell ya'll are talkin' 'bout before Keyser's post.

Anyway, after watching those vidseos I have a feeling the online mulitplayer stuff is NOT going to be fun for casual video game players. I'll bet the "hardcore 'Tards" will dominate and take away the "friendly competition/just having fun" aspect out of it like they do in Rainbow Six 3 and Jedi Academy.

I'll admit... I did have a slight advantage over some of the other player due to my gaming knowledge of past games like Tribes and Unreal.

I think I took out about 9 guys before someone finally sniped me

That's great. That would've been my tactic, too.

I even use those tactics while playing unrelated games. I went up against some friends in a Mechwarrior multiplayer game at a Dave & Buster's. At the start, everyone else ran toward the middle and hammered away at each other. I ran backwards, stayed behind some rocks, and just kept launching missiles into the fray. By the time they found me, I had racked up like 8 kills and had taken no damage. They swarmed me for the rest of the game.

I actually thought the same thing too (because i normally get schooled at these games online) but Halo 2 is supposed to match you up with players ranked the same as you. I think i had read something where they did that so as long as you were playing ranked games you would always be theoretically equally matched.
