As a side note, apparently sfsdfd activated one of the axons. I've seen the IRC log of his description of the call elsewhere. Perhaps he will show up here with more info soon. Good job sfsdfd!
Sadly, not activated - the axon is not "hot." But, I was there.

Cleveland was the second location in the entire list of 210 coordinates, and scheduled for 9:11am EDT. Some other people (none of whom I'd ever met) were supposed to meet up in the same area. None of us had any idea what to expect.

I got there at 8:15 this morning. It was at an Arabica, of all places - as best I could tell via Microsoft Streets & Trips. So I got there, and found basically nothing physical (but it was too early, anyway.)

So I waited. Got a mocha; hooked up the notebook computer; chatted on IRC for a bit. Found out that the Arabica had one payphone, and located it. Wandered around outside occasionally, looking for something interesting or the other people. Nothing, for 45 minutes - just students wandering by.

At 9am, I saw another guy wandering aimlessly - turned out to be one of the other guys from the Beekeepers group (aufrank). We chatted, discussed how to handle the upcoming unknown event. He thought the coordinate was in front of the Arabica; I thought it was behind. We manned the front and back windows, both standing by the phone, just in case.

At 9:11, the phone rang.

aufrank was around the corner and hadn't heard it. I grabbed it and said, "Hello?" and heard a female voice say, "Good - you're there!"

I shouted for aufrank to come over, and as the voice spoke, I repeated what she was saying. It was hard to hear - the phone was muffled, and there was background noise, and I was kind of amped up (caffeine + adrenaline!) Something about, "Space ship has crashed" and "Hard drive damaged" and "Who I am, and who you are."

After about 30 seconds of talking, the line went silent. "That's it," I said, holding the phone, waiting. Nothing.... and nothing... silence.

And then, "You don't know my name!" and then a creepy voice saying over and over again: "I love bees! I love bees!" (which we'd heard before, on the website.)

Then, silence. Click. Line goes dead.

I hopped on IRC and posted the news, and then posted it on the Beekeepers website. Turned out to be the first report - the phone at the first location was broken (wouldn't that suck!) In retrospect, it was obvious that I was supposed to say the name of the speaker in the intervening gap - others have done that during future calls, and have thus "activated" each "axon."

Anyway, it looks like I'll be visiting the SAME place AGAIN tomorrow to try to intercept the call and get it right. But at this point, it's kind of routine: we just have to say a few words at the right time. Presuming the phone is working (several locations have broken or in use phones, or simply no phones at all!) The funny thing is how many people are showing up at these meetings - we have 30 players appearing at some coords to answer one phone!

Overall, it's been a really damn interesting experience.

That one is right near where I'm going to be today - so I guess I'll try to head over there on my way home - what time exactly do I need to be there and what should I say?

We don't do the daylight savings thing here, so I don't know what time it's supposed to be for Arizona if it's 4:23pm Pacific.

Just got back from one of the Raleigh locations; kind of a neat idea. Heard a weird recording, hoped that we unlocked our portion of the "node" or whatever its called...

Austin, Tx Axon activated. Didn't get to hear the phone, because there were 30 other people there. Pretty geeky, but I was there adding to my geekdom. I was pretty suprised that nobody in the capitol cared that there were 30 geek hovering around a phone.

Yeah there were about 8-10 of us hanging around the phone (which was next to the bathrooms) in the Museum of History here in Raleigh; my big fear is that people would think we were all some sort of geek group "on the down low"...

Phoenix, AZ Axon is "HOT" - my GPS gave me the wrong spot - stupid Sony, so I was across the street from where the payphone was for awhile until we decided to go to the other side. We walked around aimlessly looking for a payphone and saw a couple of dorky dudes with headset communicators and one of em had a thigh-holstered pistol. We followed them across the parking lot in time to see 10-15 people converged around a Cork N Cleaver payphone and a guy came out and said "It's activated!" Someone there told me a bit about the conversation, but I don't remember any of what he said. Anyway - the grid is almost filled up.

This all seems like a very elaborate chain letter to me. Let's get to the point all ready.

Actually I just made all that up as a joke, I don't have time, plus I'm not really interested in this 'cause there aren't any close to me.

Never did make it to the one near me but it's been fun following the successful activation of each axon. Should be an interesting read in the coming weeks.

My group screwed up the first axon in Kent. But thanks David for posting your transcripts early yesterday. At first we just gave the password for out location which didn't work. Then we headed down to the next one at the Kent student center, and of course got it right then. I have some pictures of us geeks standing around the phone and I taped the call. It was phone. I'm going to see if I can get out of work early enough to go to the 5:32 location in Cleveland today.

I will work on getting it on the computer.
All of the wav files are unlocked now. I have been slowly getting them in order. I have a couple in sequence but not all of them.

What for the page to be updated? Or we have missed a clue. Since I haven't heard the wav files in proper order maybe they have a clue?

Well there is a new set of coordinates. Here is the link.
http://www.ilovebees.com/recipe3.html
This time it only looks it it needs one call to get it done. None of them are close to me. I think they are in CA, WA, TX and Washington DC

120 out of 777 secrets unlocked. Kinda like a video game.

Here are more coordinates. This time it takes 3 to activate the sound wave. Here is link to where they all are. If the coordinates worked the first time they used them again.
