I pre-ordered for $20 . If it turns out to be a mistake I will pay more. ESPN is soooo much better than Madden. I do look forward to online EA games in the future though, but they lost the football crown a long time ago. Maybe not in overall sales, but for my money.
You know the worst thing about EASports games is their "save" "load" schemes are always a mess and their loading times are always miserable. I am still playing Fight Night and the load times drive me nuts. It has been this way since the PS1 days with EA.

The E3 code is dead - I got a response from Gamestop about it a few moments ago. Still, the price is great and $5-6 for shipping still makes it a bargain. Now, let's see if they start canceling orders.

the e3 code is for ebgames...it seems you may have been ordering from gamestop...
to recap...
ebgames = free 2 day shipping
gamestop = overnight shipping for price of ground.

Visual ConceptsESPN NFL 2K5 officially $19.99
New budget price for the latest installment in Visual Concepts' acclaimed football franchise is announced.
Two days ago, many sports fans did a double take when they saw ESPN NFL 2K5 listed at a $19.99 price point on EBgames.com and GameStop.com. However, at the time, officials from the game's developer, Visual Concepts, wouldn't officially confirm the new budget price, saying only, "We will have big announcements regarding the game soon."
Apparently "soon" meant "Friday." Today, EBgames.com is advertising the new $19.99 price point on its home page as "just announced." Sources within the retailer confirmed that "The $19.99 launch price for [the] Xbox and PS2 is official and has been confirmed by the publisher."
The price drop marks an aggressive move by ESPN NFL 2K5's publisher to win new football fans in the Madden NFL-dominated market. It also comes just days after Sega announced it had signed a deal with Take-Two Interactive to co-distribute the entire line of ESPN games, which it formerly published solo. However, since the agreement was technically between Sega and Global Star Software, Take-Two's budget game subsidiary, rumors of a price drop for the game were already widespread.
The "E" for Everyone-rated ESPN NFL 2K5 will be released on August 24 for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. For more information, read the brand-spanking-new preview of the game by GameSpot's own Bob Colayco.

However, for $15 with the gamer's card, I will certainly try it out.

Madden is not comparable. It's a much better, deeper game, and from what I've read about 2K5, there won't be any contest.

Wow...ESPN had to resort to dropping the price all the way down to $20 to try to steal Madden's thunder. I'm still gettin Madden when it comes out and will pay $50 for it, no problem. Madden will always be the best football game ever.

Madden was fun, but if you want realistic football and not fantasy owner mode, try ESPN.

You guys don't realistically think EA's going to let this happen without responding, do you? I foresee a Madden pricedrop as well.
