Actually I just ment that the only solutions now available were the complicated, expensive ones described by Joshic. Yes, a wireless headset one would be nice, but I'd be concerned the price would be very high and the battery life would be shitty. It's too bad someone can't just come up with a cheap 900 Mhz phone/walkie talkie solution that could plug into your headset and the oner end into the receiver slot. My best friend and I will play one-on-one SC : PT and just chat on our cell phones during gameplay. It works great for us (but then again we have free moible-to-mobile plans).

Sorry - you said Hip Gear was coming out with blah blah and then you said there was a discussion 'link' - so it sounded like you were saying there was a discussion about the Hip Gear solution, and I was the only one who mentioned it in that thread. Sounded funny to me.
Anyway... it is all about me.

Aaaahhh I see now. Yes you were the Hip Gear "discussion", but the complicated and cumbersome reference was Joshic's solution, and the thread was the "discussion" I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion.
Next time before I post, I'll ask myself WWTD*

Since there was the discussion of the rebate here, I figured I would mention a pretty good deal : Best Buy is now selling the CORDED Precision Xbox Controller for $19.99. Combine that with the $5 Gamer's coupon and $5 MIR and you have a very good deal on a solid, if unspectacular controller. BTW the corded model looks significantly different and slightly larger than the wireless model.

PS2 Controller
I picked up the new Logitech PS2 Action Cordless controller last night at Wal-Mart ($40) and I like it a lot. Great range, the analog sticks feel good and the shoulder button placement is very similar to the original Dual-Shock. The only down side is the size seems a tad small and the D-Pad is kinda loose feeling. It is tons better than Logitech's first cordless PS2 offering however.
The feel of the Airstyle is better overall in my opinion but the short range of the Airstyle is a deal breaker for me so I'll more than likely end up using this new cordless Logitech controller as my primary controller for the PS2.

Is the range on the Airstyle that short? Granted, I haven't tested it, and I did see that post where the guy had to lean forward, but is everybody experiencing this?

I am in an apartment and I too had trouble with the distance on the Airstyle. I loved the controlller but I couldn't sit back on the sofa to play or lean foreward. I had to stay in a certain range or the controller would lose signal. Even if I did stay in the "sweet spot" the controller every now and than would cut out. I was frustrated with this controller so I read this thread and bought the new Logitech ones and they work great for me. I kind of like the feel of this controller better as well. Dont like the loose D-pad but I dont often use that so it works out well for me.

I posted on the other thread, but it seems like wireless controllers are getting cheaper and cheaper:
Pelican Predator, wireless controller for PS2, rated a favorite of PSM magazine, sells 2 for 50 at Bestbuy. Anyone have any experience with this one?
Airstyle, wireless for PS2, almost exactly like a dualshock, praised by IGN and rated second by the same PSM magazine article, sells for 25 at Fry's, 20 on sale. Apparently has some issues with range (although maybe you guys should try fresh batteries: the batteries it comes with are very generic).
So both are cheaper than even regular controllers (usually, Dualshock II's are 25 a piece). And the topic of this thread, the Logitechs, sell for 40 now, and are licensed by Microsoft and Sony. Although that seems a tad expensive, their last model was 60-70 bucks! So is the wireless technology just advancing at such a rate that prices dropped? Or were they just scamming money off of us all this time, and competition finally dropped prices?
Didn't mention options for Gamecube because nothing beats the Wavebird (even without rumble support). Apparently, Logitech knows this too, since they've never made a GCN version of their controller...
And anyone have any trouble using two to four of these controllers simultaneously?

Just saw these at BB today (for $49.99). What was interesting is that stuck onto these boxes was a rebate coupon good for $15 if you buy 2 AND any Xbox game OR $5 if you buy one controller AND any Xbox game. It did not seem to be a BB exclusive rebate, and I did not see if they needed to be purchased on the same receipt. The rebate is not up on their website yet. Just FYI...

OK, but like I said, I don't think you have to buy them at BB. It's just a coupon stuck on the front of the box and easily removed. You wouldn't be very popular, but I imagine you could buy them at WalMart along with a game and then peel off one of these coups later. Or even better, as el_jer suggested, buy two at full price along with a $15 game at BB (a/c), then go to the CS window, have them confirm the $39.99 price at WalMart and have them give you $22 back (110% of the difference). Then mail in one of those rebate forms. Now you have 2 controllers for $63 total (a/r) plus a game for $15, and you'd still have another rebate form to give to someone here!

i just picked up the new logitech wireless controller for the ps2 from circuit city - i think it was a 5 hour sale for $30.
i give it a 10 out of 10. it's early, but right now, i can find no faults. battery life according to the manual = 50 hours w/ vibration, 300 w/out. no on/off button - it auto detects (pretty cool, imo). response is totally fine - i can detect no lag or anything. comes w/ 2 duracell AA batteries...
after further use, if i find any problems, i'll post an update and revise my rating.
