On another note, Gabe Newell announced Half-Life 2 is on track for a Summer '04 release. I'll believe it when it happens. It also seems that Doom 3 should be released very, very soon. Possibly as early as early June. |
Also, I must thank you again Jack. All these pics are great, its almost going to be like being there!

Some really good looking games coming out for Xbox. The new Star Wars: Republic Comando game looked really cool - though my friends says that the previews have not been favorable. Maybe they just did a really cool job with the trailer. Halo 2 looks sweet and there have been some great advancements in that game. They showed another XNA demo where they crashed two of the Saleens together. More lighting and angles. Nicely done.
Doom III of course looked okay on the Xbox, but nothing compared to what has been seen on the PC. The new Forza racing game which is labled as a "simulator" is nothing close to it. It lets you fully customize your cars, which is nice, but unfortunately they also included damage which adversely affect driving - something that is impossible to simulate. The rest really didn't stand out. I didn't need to see a Shrek game or rehashes of old DOA games. And I especially didn't need all the donkeys making stupid jokes with Jenny McCarthy. I also didn't need to hear about how "software is the way to make great games" when all Microsoft did its first year was claim it was the most powerful hardware. Pretty pitiful. Halo 2 looks sweet. The Xbox Arcade is worthless. The video camera is their responce to EyeToy. Doom 3 looks better on PC. XNA looks like it is coming along nicely. Everything else is nothing new. |

PSP is what the one thing I really hope to find out more about from E3. I hope can be lucky enough to go to E3 some year.

First shot of Nintendo DS

Re: First shot of Nintendo DS
I'm all over it, even though the big N said it 'wasn't a successor to the GBA'. Then how come it plays GBA games as well? Still... I'm buying it. |

Originally posted by PixyJunket No, the GBA and DS are going to be 2 different markets. More than likely the GBA will continue to see kid-friendly software (Spiderman, NickToons, etc.), SNES ports, and other games that may not use the full functionality of the DS. The DS will be able to play those games still so those that invest in one will not need to keep 2 systems around. That's my take on it. The DS will probably cost more, and be aimed at an older market like the PSP. The GBA will still continue to get a ton of software (albeit mostly crap), and as it's still active, the DS can't be it's successor. |
Does anyone know if that shot of the DS is legit? I thought it wasn't getting shown until Thursday.
