Question for ya...this will be my first E3. I have seen tons of pics from the event in the past, which leads me to my question. What's the ruling on bringing my digital camera? Do I have to hide it and sneak it in, or can you legally bring a camera? I don't see anything saying not to bring camera's on the E3 website, then again I don't see anything saying its ok :) Any help/tips are appreciated.

you can bring cameras, video cameras, mp3 players, tape recorders, back massagers, foot scrubs, cell phones, sketch pads, magazines, laptop computers, PDAs, Gameboys, tampons, backpacks, fanny packs, wallets, walkie talkies, GPS locators, GI Joes, mini-televisions, diet pills, sunflower seeds, water bottles, sharpie pens, hairspray, cigarettes, and most anything else...

You cannot bring guns, knives, bombs, anthrax, drugs, or beer.

This just popped in my head. Where is Sega popular? Japan. Where is Microsoft not popular? Japan. What if Sega released the Japanese version of the Xbox2 under their brand name? That would allow Microsoft to pull funding out of Japan completely and let Sega have a stab at putting a console on top.
Why would Sega announce that at an American trade event instead of waiting for the Tokyo Game Show, where it would have far more impact? No doubt it would have an impact at E3 but since the direct effect of such a deal on the U.S. market would be fairly negligible it would not be the ideal venue for that sort of announcement. Furthermore the consensus seems to be that Microsoft isn't going to unveil the Xbox 2 at this E3 so it would be a bit of a downer for Sega to make noise about an Xbox 2 deal while Microsoft has nothing to show.

Yeah, camera's are a plus.. for me it's a must. I need to bring a digital cam to get in. :p

Here is a new picture from today. banners go up. Tomorrow should be finished for the outside..

Pure speculation:

Remember the rumors before XBox was released about a Sega-developed Dreamcast emulator for it?

Maybe this is it...

A valid point, and it has taken me a few minutes to come up with a response, but I think I have one.

System Development Kits (SDK) for the Xbox2 are already in circulation. The average time needed to develop a game for a system is 18 months, meaning that, in order to release the system in 2005, Microsoft would have to get developers working now. The only way that some developers would get on board (possibly) is if it was Sega. So, timing is everything. Waiting until TGS would just be too long. Those would be valuable months Japanese developers would not have to develop the games. Announcing it now gives them plenty of time.

Wasn't there some group in the past that put together an E3 DVD? Anyone remember or know who this was?

So Atari's big E3 surprise is that they've been bought out by the makers of Boon-Ga Boon-Ga?

On another note, are the press conferences Mon and Tue? I'm going for the expo Wed-Fri but I remember last year .mpg's of the press events were up on the net pretty quick, need to know if I should look for them tomorrow or are there held during the Expo too?
