Silent Scope Rifle now avialble at BB!

Just to let you guys know, if you were planning on picking this sniper rifle up that best buy has it available now for sale, you might want to check it out, because I have heard this gun is not produced in large quanties, my best friend works at EBgames, and was told not to accept any preoders or prepurchases for the gun, because they will be lucky if they can get any they are going to be that low quantity made. Just a heads up, I just picked mine up, it was the only 1 they had, it is an awesome gun for $50

Does it have the little LCD screen in it like the arcade gun?

They had a ton of them at my local Best Buy. I would have picked one up but there on the side of the box was the statement "Not compatible with rear projection TVs" (or something like that).

I was really looking forward to this but will now have to pass. Is there a reason for this or are all light-guns not compatible with RPTVs?

There's no LCD screen.

My understanding is that there's a sensor / button on the end of the scope. When your eye hits the button, it triggers the screen zoom.

Can anyone with the gun give a review of it? What games does it work with? All Silent Scope games? Only newer Silent Scope games? All Gun games? $50 seems really cheap for a sniper rifle gun... I'm a little worried about build quality.

edit: never mind, I found most of the answers to my questions here: http://gameinfowire.com/news.asp?nid=3760

I'll definitely be buying this rifle and the accompanying game. Sounds like fun!

I believe that Calico already has this gun, and is just waiting on Silent Scope.

I've seen where it says this gun is HDTV compatible - anyone know where there's a compatibility list for it? Specifically, I'm wondering if there's any chance it will be compatible with a Sony Vega 36XBR450, since I haven't seen any other guns that work with it.

I have the gun as well, I will be testeing at on a 50" Panasonic LCd(I know just for the hell of it) a 27" Sony Wega(its not hidef so it should work fine), and a 40xbr800 wega( so if this works on this set then it is hdcompatible with tube HDTVs)

Punisher, I will post here on wednesday when the game comes out

I know this rifle can break down and work with HOTD 3, but does anyone know if it will also work with NEW light gun games running of a emulator?

The rebate on the rifle only applies if you buy both the Silent Scope complete game and the rifle, so it is not as good as you think it is.

I just hate cutting up the UPC symbol from the game in order to get $10 back.

I deleted the post, I meant NES (Nintendo 8 bit) emulator, and it does. Sorry.

Forgive my ignorance.

Is this gun only for the Xbox, or will it work with the PS2?
Will it work with Silent Scope 1? Thanks.

I picked up the rifle today, verrrrry slick. It turned out to be a lot bigger and heavier than I thought, which is a good thing. I started playing house of the dead with it and its about as accurate as the madcatz gun. I was shooting with both guns for a while and it was fun! But the kickback is awful, it sounds like a dieing cat and has less kickback than an electric toothbrush. Maybe my unit has a bad motor though, I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks. If you have the gun please plug it into any game and turn kickback on and pull the trigger a few times and post back. Thanks.
