XBOX LIVE connection speed
Hey everyone, I just switched over to cable connect for my xbox. Now when I test my connection speed on my computer it says about 1.5mb down and 767 upload. So I'm thinking wow that's pretty sweet to host games on xbox. *DING* WRONG!
Oddly when I checked my xbox connection
(dashboard--->network setting--->connect--->let it check your connection then hit the Y button you get a special menu which tells you your latency, packets lost and Download/Upload.)
My xbox numbers are as followed:
UL: 165kb
DL: 9765kb
L: 114ms
P: 20/20
What concerns me is that my upload is drastically lower that it should be. It's always as if my xbox is a huge bottle neck.
My question is what is causing this big difference in upload?

I too believe the speeds my XBOX reads to be WAY off. My numbers are always really low and I've never had a problem that I can see and I've never been told I'm lagging. I believe that if you test you speed with your computer and it is good that way....then you should have no problems on LIVE.

Maybe you have a lot of interference with your cable, or that you are using too long of a cable?

I now have the D-Link DWL-810+ wireless adapter and the Microsoft Wireless Basestation MN-500 router. Both are 802.11b. I'm in a small apartment but the two are in separate rooms, and the connection is great.
