I will probably only be playing PGR2 online for a month or so, and then I will revert to the single-player (as well as "local" multiplayer every once in a while) portion of the game. Do you feel it will be worth it just for the single-player?
So basically I'm asking three quick questions:
1. How is the difficulty compared to PGR?
2. How are the single player and "local multiplayer", meaning, non-Xbox Live portions of the game?
3. What's the cheapest place to get it from? (I think Wal-Mart or Circuit City is selling it for $40 on Black Friday, and I think that'll be the best price, but if anyone knows a cheaper place, please reply)
Thanks in advance!

1. As far as your question goes,I would say the difficulty is about the same. The difference is in PGR 2 you get to choose how hard it'll be. For the Kudos part of the game you can decide what your time level for a game is,or how many kudos you need to pass it,etc. In a street race, you choose how good your opposition will be.
2. I haven't played multiplayer at all,but the single player is awesome. It's unfortunate they got rid of the speed cones in the kudos challenges, but the speed camera is a fair replacement.
3. Check on Ebay first. I've seen a few copies go for around $35. Failing that,CC does have a pretty good price.
Good luck. This is an awesome game...you won't regret buying it.

I then proceeded to crash into every wall on every turn. I even tried the brake but I ended up slowing down so much, there was no way I'd catch the computer car I was racing against.
I was never good at racing games. The last racing game I was good at was Super Monaco GP on Genesis so many years ago. I tried all the Gran Turismo games, andd while I loved the customization, music, and graphics, I could never keep the game because unless the track was straight, I sucked ass on the turns.
Any certain tips or tricks I should follow? I'll give this a few more plays over the weekend, but if I continue to stink up the track, I'll be getting rid of it. I want to keep it, you all make it sound so awesome, but I just want to be good at it

Actually at this point I'd take halfway decent

Hey nick, I can give a few basic tips. For turns, make sure you take them all WIDE, and also brake into the turns and accelerate out of them. Hmm..I need to think of some more I guess...
edit : Also, when you get better taking the turns normally you should try to use the handbrake (A button) to help in sliding into the turns.
With turns make sure you brake ahead of time also, you need to prepare to take a turn, you can't just go flying into it. You should try taking turns as slow possible at first, and just work your way up.
Another good thing to do is to download the ghost cars of other players, and watch them..see what they do and try to mimic them. Also do that with the computer.
Let me know if that helps!

Oh and also, go into gallery mode and you can select any unlocked car and test drive it around a fairly simple course, you should do that to help get the hang of turning. Also try with a car that has maxed points in handling, like the Spyder.
You also can use the skidmarks on the road to judge where you should turn at, those are usually the best spots.

One more question: I just found a nice little 10$ off coupon for Ebgames. Does anyone know if they'll price-match CC on Black Friday? That way I could get the game for 29.99$ if it works. Thanks in advance.

Example: Pick the Ford Focus. Top speed 4, acceleration 4. Total is 8. Everyone else has 8 points to work with. They can pick any car with 8 points or less. They can pick another top speed 4, acceleration 4 car (even the same one), a top speed 3, acceleration 5 car or a top speed 2, acceleration 6 car. Even a top speed 3, acceleration 4 car or a top speed 4, acceleration 3 car if they desire.
The cars are pretty evenly matched and you can get some cool combinations between classes. I like it because it doesn't matter how many cars you have unlocked, you can always come up with a combination that works. And you can race with cars that you normally don't get to race, like the Ford pickup truck and the Mercedes Gullwing.
Send out an invite to "Tandem" if you want to try it.

I called EB Games today and asked why I haven't got my game yet. The rep said "Oops, looks like we never shipped it
"Anyways, I had them upgrade my shipping and I hope to get it this week. Anyone still interested in racing newbies?

Whta do you have to do to get Nurburgring?
Also I'd be interested to get anyone's input on what you don't like about the game, and which car you hate the most/you find the most difficult to control. So far the MK car has been the hardest for me....I've got about 220,000 kudos & I don't like the fact that there are no speed cones in regular kudos circuits, and that you can't use any car whenever you want in the kudos challenge section.

....I ended up picking this up as a result of this thread a few days ago and have been playing the hell out of it.
