As far as getting it I too am on a tight budget and will pick it up when it hits around $25. I hope it sells well but they keep it on the cube.

Anyway, I'm just not big on action games, I prefer slower paced, exploration oriented games (i.e. platformers). That's why the demo didn't blow me away enough to buy it.
It's still pretty good, and like you I'll pick it up when it drops in price or I find a deal-- if for no other reason than to support 2D gaming.

Easier said than done, dude.
This game is sold out EVERYWHERE!!!
With no more in sight.
So-called "video-game" store can't even say when they're getting more in. WTF?
I mean, I guess I understand being sold out of a slightly obscure game on release day. But not being able to say whether or not (or even when or if) they'll get the game agian is absolutely ridiculous.

Viewtiful Joe takes on a whole new element of gameplay once the Zoom feature has been awakened. People that have played the demo have only seen an ounce of whats in store. I've picked up voomerangs, the multi-hit air combo, the kick slide and now I'm saving for the VFX charger. The fighting is top notch, the puzzles are inventive and graphically it's a work of art. Trust reviewers and word of mouth, buy this game (if you can find a copy).

I played the game at work today and I loved it! Game does get kinda hard as I went along...and even though it was repetitive, I was never bored.
As for the person complaining about a "video game store" employee not knowing when they will be restocked, that's understandable. I work at an EB, and we have a shipping log that is updated every day of shipments sent to us. If it's not the screen, we don't know when it's coming in.

I played through the demo twice more this evening. It's growing on me. I'll definitely pick it up at some point. I just can't afford it right now. Maybe I'll put it on my birthday list next month.

I started Episode Four. It gets pretty tough but stringing combos together never gets old, especially after powerups. I got to fly in a ship in one level---side scrolling with full VFX/Zoom was way fun. I'll be sure to play in prog-scan tomorrow-can't wait.

)I only got to play this game for awhile before I went to work but I was really impressed. I think Capcom should use the game engine for a new Megaman game and cut out these stupid X# games. Off to play more Viewtiful Joe....

I've been looking for a deal too, but I haven't came across one yet. Be sure to check the Best Buy and Circuit City Flyers this sunday, there's an off chance they might have some kind of deal on it next week, but not very likely as this isn't a big release. If it doesn't sell well, it should hit the bargain bins pretty fast.

One more day and I'll finally have this
. The week is too long. I'm going to be using the BB coupon. $35 is a steal for a game of this quality.

The helicopter was a tuffie, but I finally managed to take it down after numerous tries. This is definately one of the best games for the GC hands down. Well, that is if you're into the sidescolling action games. ;p

That's odd. My reasoning was if it sold poorly, they might slap some ports out to try to break even, or make a little, rather than take a loss.
I guess it would make sense if it sold super well to, as it would maximize profits.

Back on topic: Viewtiful Joe has an odd name, and it probably will appeal mostly to older lifelong gamers, but I still hope it does well. I'll pick up a copy if I can manage to find one... everyone seemed to be out of stock already this afternoon.

I'm really liking this game, its the first one that has really held my interest in a long time. I was actually up till 2am last night playing when I had to get up for work this morning - now I'm dead tired. It took me almost 2 hours to get past the boss at the end of level 2 (Hulk). I didn't want to turn it off and go to bed since I'd have had to start halfway through the level again.
One of the things that sets it apart from other side-scrolling beat-em-up games is that just eliminating the enemies isn't your only goal. You want to eliminate them with style to get extra Vpoints - that makes it a lot more interesting than something where you just care about proceeding with any cheese-move that is necessary.
