So for example I trade in two games at EB I get $21.20 for each game, $20 credit plus $1.20 in tax. I thought these stores were required to do that? Maybe I'm worng.
Huh. I've NEVER had that happen. Every game I've ever traded, I've gotten a round number ($10, $20, etc.) straight up.

I'm planning on trading my JSRF/Sega GT disc and the original DMC to get the second one. Great deal!

Thanks for the great deal! I went to Gamestop last night, took in Wreckless, Amped, Jak & Daxter (GH), NBA Street, SSX, and (I'm blanking on the sixth game), and picked up Ghost Recon (Xbox), and 2 purchase slips for DMC2 and The Getaway. Figured I'd stop by CC and buy Blinx for $25 too $45 for 4 games is fantastic.

By the way, the only charged me tax on the final price for each game (7% on $10 (GR) and 7% on $9.99 (DMC2)) So if they charged you more than that, I'd get them to adjust the price when you go to pick up the games. And my one took SSX too.

I may end up finding another couple of games to trade for DOA: volleyball.

Oh yes, anyone know what DOA: BV actually *plays* like. I'd prefer to get a fun game rather than one that just looks good.

So they did only charge you like $10.50-ish Lampei for each pre-order? Thanks for the info.

Besides the previously mentioned SSX, has anyone else gotten rejections on their trade-in games? Thanks.

Yup, sure have. I just called a couple of my gamestops and I think I am either getting screwed, or each one does whatever they want. It appears that the 2 games have to have a trade in value of at least $5.00. So that takes out SSX, Fantavision, Gungriffon Blaze, WDL Warjetz, and Extermination.

I wish this situation with The Getaway would be straightened out. I shouldn't have to pay anything for it, but I was told yesterday I do. I'm calling them now about it.
As for the tax, I only paid tax on the $9.99 for Ghost Recon, they told me I could pay the $10.69 for DMC 2 when I pick it up.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........hmmmmmmmmmmm.........
I just called them, talked to the guy that just yesterday told me I would have to pay the $9.99 for The Getaway, and he said "The Getaway is free if you trade in two games".
I guess that clears that up.

Just got back from my local Gamestop and pre-ordered Devil May Cry 2 for 9.99 after trading in 2 Serious Sam Xbox games that I purchased at EB for 9.99 each after a coupon that they have on the counter.

So, i got DMC2 for 30 bucks...pretty sweet.

The dude there told me that the Getaway was still 9.99 after the trade ins, and the signs they had up on the walls about the trade in offer for these games seemed to confirm that as well.

I went to Gamestop today (in Temecula, CA) and the dude was clueless about the deal. He then "remembered" an email from the corporate office that said the list of games that were included in the deal. He mentioned The Sims for PS2, which I wanted, and also the Getaway. He tried to charge me $49.99 for the Getaway, but I told him on Gamestop.com it was $39.99, and he looked all confused, and a little upset, and said "Oh you're right" and changed it.

I asked him about other games on the list, and he claimed Ghost Recon was only available for GC via this promotion. I was pissed about that after hearing some of you guys get it for XBox, and PS2.

I called him back and asked him to recheck his list, and he basically said in so many words "I don't care what other Gamestop's are bending the rules, we are sticking to this form."

What an idiot. He even tried to tell me greatest hits titles weren't available to trade in. He had to call someone to verify that they were.

No wonder I never shop at Lamestop, the service sucks. The one in Moreno Valley had much better service, but that's 60 miles away. I feel like complaining, anyone have a customer service number?

this is such crap the way some of these Gamestop's are not honoring deals. Maybe it's a franchise thing. You know how sometimes you go to a Burger King or something and not all of them are participating in the 99 cent whoppers? Or you have three Del Taco's in your town and only one is open 24 hours....grrr

lol I am rambling

I went to Babbage's to see if the deal worked the same way there as the GameStop, and it does. I don't know why some shops are being turdbombs about it.

Traded in Frequency and MGS2 yesterday for a Devil May Cry 2 pre-order. I have to pay $9.99 plus tax when I pick it up. Got a sweet DMC2 t-shirt as well!

For any of you in Austin, I went to the Gamestop down south in Susnset Valley. They said I could get The Getaway for free too.

Anyone know if there would be any problem if did this 2 for 1 deal and you were to return DOA Voleyball, DMC2 etc to get another game? Just wondering incase I dont enjoy them. I know normally they allow you to return up to , I believe, 7 days. But I am not sure if they would still do this if you were to do this deal.

They will let you swap games, I asked before I got Ghost Recon. The manager told me "Yeah, you can swap it, just don't make a habit of it or we'll revoke your privileges."

Just got back from the local funcoland, where I traded in 8 old games, and came home with Panzer Dragoon Orta (10.60 w/Tax), and slips for the Getaway, DOA Volleyball (w/cool calendar), Brute Force, and Star Wars Knights of the old Republic. Now you may be asking yourself how I have 5 games with only 8 trade-ins. Turns out the Guy rang up Panzer and proceeded to put those 2 trade-ins back in the pile, and then they traded them in again for Brute Force. Thanks for the Great Deal!!!!

Went to Funcoland to exchange 4 of my games for 2 pre-orders of DOAXVB. They were Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Serious Sam, Virtua Fighter 4 and Zone of the Enders. The VF4 was brand new and never opened. Everything was going fine until they told me that ZOE was ineligible for the promotion since it was worth "nothing". Apparently the game would have been eligible if it didn't have scratches on it. At that point they had unsealed the VF4 I was trading in and I kinda whined "Oh man, I could have returned that to BestBuy if you didn't unseal it." The manager then told the employee who was helping me, "Go ahead and let him trade it in." So, just to let you guys know, if you have some really old and crappy games (like ZOE) to trade in, they'll let you do it most likely, but it needs to have no scratches on the discs.

Well, this sucks. As I said, the manager told me I could trade Ghost Recon back in if I didn't like it. Well, I didn't like it, so I went to go trade it in today towards SOCOM, which I thought was hella better. The manager who rang me up for Ghost Recon the other night said "Okay, you have $17 in store credit". I asked him why, he said "since this game was from our trade-in deal, you only get credit in the amount of the games you traded in, which is $17." I took the game back, so I guess I'll try to trade it off here or something. That is the last Tom Clancy game I will ever play - I have Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, Ghost Recon, and played Splinter Cell, and didn't really like any of them.
One good thing did happen though - I'm a DMC fanatic, so I asked the manager about the DMC 2 poster, cardboard standee, and huuuuge box displays they had; he put my name on them all, so I get to have them free when they're done displaying them.

What u guys should do is buy 2 used cheap games at a different gamestop and go to another one and trade it in over there. I bought Oni, a used one for $9.99 and I'm going to trade it in along with Resident Evil for Devil May Cry 2. That way my total I've spent will be around $20. I hope they'll accept Oni.
