So I should be on around the same time. Just everyone please remember, I put the xbox on when I am planning on playing. I am usually putting my kid to sleep. So if you invite me, and I am the only competition on there, please wait for me, I will be no longer then 20 mins, and thats if you see me appear. If I am already there when you get there, it will most likely be shorter.

Thanks man. I WILL be on tonight, and we can play 2 if you want. I've been busy as hell and have been having problems with my router so I haven't been on much, but will disconnect my PC tonight and go on.

OK. I'm not liking online gaming too much. This is a general vent, not directed at anyone here. I've played 2 games today. I know for a fact both of the people I played could see the plays I was calling 2 questions:

How do they do this?
How can I report them to MS? The feedback system is a joke. I should be able to type out my complaint. Instead I get 4 canned responses to choose from

I would be very VERY interested to know how they can see your plays. Can you explain?

Stuff I picked up on:

Wouldn't call a play until I picked a play. For passing plays they would take a extra DB and follow my best receiver. For every pass play I had to audible all of my receiver routes. I started to wait until the play clock reached 8 or so seconds and would call a pass play quick so they didn't have much time to think about it because the cpu only lets you have so many seconds. Your clock won't run out tho' if you rush your people to the LOS. I did this when I didn't feel like calling 2-5 audibles per play.

When I called running plays they would stack the LOS with goal line or bear formations and blitz like crazy. I would audible to pitch outs or screens but my O line sucks.

Had to audible on defense because he had people running wide open from where I brought the blitz. I did have 7 picks before I cut the game off.

I thought maybe I'm just getting beat, but when I tested him by going for it on 4th and 20 from my own 10 he comes out in dime defense.

I'm sure he had to use a computer some kind of way to see them or there's some Xbox mod or trick I don't know about, but it sure did stink until I caught on. I probably could've pulled it out but I was just too pissed to play anymore. He was up 17-14 in the 3rd quarter when I quit the game. I couldn't even talk to him and tell him what I thought of him because he didn't have his headset on.

If you wait to call your play on defense, you know what personnel the other team is sending out, just like can be seen from the opposing sideline in a real game. If you don't send the punting team out on 4th and 20, it's guaranteed you'll see a dime or perhaps even a prevent defense.

If he was so committed to stopping the run, why not use play action passes or quick slants or any fast developing pass play?

You quit, and it doesn't sound like he did anything wrong.

OK. I understand that. True it will tell you the type of formation you have picked.

Again, my offensive line stinks. I used those types of plays. I wouldn't come on a internet board if I didn't know what I was talking about. If my qb is constantly being harrased...no matter how much protection I give him...he's not going to make good throws. What do you think I audible to? Go routes? Fade routes? I audible to screens, slants etc. I didn't mention it because I was too mad at the games I had just played. Play action passes are no good with my team because...my offensive line stinks.

When would you like to play? How do you explain him taking a linebacker or extra db and have him stand where my receiver is supposed to break???? And no, I wasn't calling the same pass plays. I was mixing it up. How about when I call a route audible he would send his db to where he thought my receiver was going??? Like I said, it's no fun if someone knows what you are doing. That's why I quit. If someone has to cheat to win I'd rather not play them. As said earlier, I probably could've come back. He was no longer scoring once I caught on. Again, you talk as if I'm just no good at this game. When do you want to play?

Well, you did a pretty good impression of not knowing what you were talking about by writing:

Stuff I picked up on:

...I thought maybe I'm just getting beat, but when I tested him by going for it on 4th and 20 from my own 10 he comes out in dime defense.
Forgive me for thinking you were new to the game after reading that. That clearly reads as though you're an expert.

Why do I get the feeling that if we were side by side, you'd ask me to step outside?

Maybe you just ran into someone that is very good on defense. Isn't that possible? I've run into plenty of incredible defensive players in every version of NFL 2k online. I've never heard of anybody, though, jumping to the conclusion that the other player could see their plays.

Here's the other guy's sins...

* Wouldn't call a play until I picked a play. == smart

* For passing plays they would take a extra DB and follow my best receiver. == smart

* When I called running plays they would stack the LOS with goal line or bear formations and blitz like crazy. == smart

* Had to audible on defense because he had people running wide open from where I brought the blitz. I did have 7 picks before I cut the game off. == You were smart... that is, unless you somehow saw his plays as he was calling them. I mean, 7 picks!... you must have known.

* I thought maybe I'm just getting beat, but when I tested him by going for it on 4th and 20 from my own 10 he comes out in dime defense. == smart

Why would I want to play you? If I were able to take the lead/win, who's to say I wasn't cheating, in your eyes? And if I lost, that doesn't change anything with the opponent who inspired your rant.

Plus, based on your overreaction (Me: 'It doesn't sound like he did anything wrong'; You: 'You think I'm no good? Bring it on!'), it doesn't sound like playing you would lead to a fun 45 minutes.

By the way, at the risk of having you feel this is an insult by pointing out something you may already know...

The point of play action passes is to prevent someone from looking at whether all your offensive line is in a two- or three-point stance and knowing with 100% accuracy whether it's a pass or run in 2k3. Whether you gain yardage is almost just a bonus.

If you're not keeping him honest by sprinkling in a few play actions, of course he's going to overcommit to stuff the run as soon as he sees three point stances across the board.

tip

Don't hurry your offense up to the line of scrimmage every time just to make the game go faster. It actually does tire your guys out.

Dude, you just don't understand. You have nothing to add to this thread other than a "Deadpool sucks" mentality and I don't know how to play. Fine. You haven't attempted to answer any of my questions, you just come up with stuff as to why I was losing a game. Maybe one day you will run into someone who just "appears" to know everything you try to do.

That's all you've done in your 2 posts to this thread. Insult me. How can I not feel that's your only intent?

Yes, you're right. I jumped in because I just love to insult people. And look at how scathing those insults were:

If you wait to call your play on defense, you know what personnel the other team is sending out, just like can be seen from the opposing sideline in a real game. If you don't send the punting team out on 4th and 20, it's guaranteed you'll see a dime or perhaps even a prevent defense.

I tried to hide it as an explanation to someone who may be new to the game, but you saw right through that and accurately perceived the absolutely vicious assault hidden within.

It's a good thing I didn't answer your earlier question of 'How do I add people to my friends list?' Just look at how insulting my response of "You have to do it from the dashboard" would have been.

You really need to lighten up. What's your problem? If you don't have anything to offer other than smart remarks you need to go elsewhere

Anybody reading this thread can see who needs to lighten up, after your irrational response to my initial reply.

Have fun in your league. I'll gladly stay out of this thread at this point.

You really didn't read any of my threads. You took bits out of it and made it seem I don't know what I was talking about. My response wasn't irrational. I was explaining why I felt someone could see plays. Explain this for me if he was simply smart:

How do you explain him taking a linebacker or extra db and have him stand where my receiver is supposed to break???? And no, I wasn't calling the same pass plays.
He wasn't simply following my best receiver. He was using an extra man sitting in the spot the receiver was supposed to break to. How can you know where my best receiver is going on every pass play? Is that really smart or is that cheating?

I don't know, but from reading the last part of the thread, I would have to say that Deadpool killed it off, or everyone else went somewhere else to play, so they wouldn't be accused of cheating....

The last page of this thread is hilarious.

Mr. Snowmizer is my hero.

Speaking of which, I think I'll pop in my 'The Year Without Santa Claus' DVD right now.

Actually, as you can see on the first page, most people didn't even start the season after the draft took place. It was an open style league where people played whenever other people were on and it counted towards the season, but I'd never see anyone other than 3 or 4 of the same guys on!

Then the league thread totally deteriorated into a deadpool vs. mr. snowmizer (who wasn't even in the league, which was the funny part) argument.

Do any of you guys still play this online? I had some bad experiences with Madden 2003 on the PS2 so I haven't even taken this online yet except to get the updates.
