What he said I can't kick field goals...

Also, a roster update is out there. I downloaded it last night. How are we going to handle this. If needed I can always delete the file if it causes a problem.

Thanks for the game it was a good one.

Let me just say this too, if any of you guys see me on at this time ( 9:30pm ish EST) I am putting my 6 month old to sleep. So if I don't respond right away, give me, at the max, 20 mins. I put it on when I start to put him down, so you guys can see me. The little man will only go to bed for me.

SigTau - you invited me to a game of MA last night. I had accepted it thinking we were going to play football, but then it tells me to change discs That's when I noticed what you were playing. That's why I declined your invite.

Oops...

Deadpool...that was my mistake. I think I was confused and thought you were on my friends list for MechAssault instead of football. I had just played two games of football, so I wanted to play something else.

By the way, I should be on tonight at about 5:00 (central) or so.

I'm starting to get concerned that some members in the league have yest to play their first game and have yet to even accept my friend invites. I understand many of us were away on vacation. Now that the holidays are over, should we put a deadline on when a team's first game should be played?

Well its 3 and 3 so thats convienent.

It took me some time to get that first game in. But the difference is that I was on expressing the DESIRE to play that first game. I don't think these guys have posted in this thread in a while. Maybe another week? But I would email them or PM them first.

"Pooch Punting"

I have a proposal, based on what I've seen in online play of NFL 2K3 (which includes not just our league games). It's what I call the "pooch punt," which basically takes advantage of a flaw in the game. If you angle a punt right in the game, and I'm not talking about the normal NFL strategy of trying to get a kick within the 10 yard line, you can make it bounce ridiculously far b/c for some reason the returners can't reach the spot where the ball lands. Plus, the ball always bounces back toward the goal line.

If you've seen this done, you know that this is a glitch, an unintended flaw. It's not real football, either. My proposal is we impose a self-ban on this, simply b/c it's kind of cheap. Anyway, that's just my feeling on the issue.

On another note, this has been real fun. I've played several good opponents and had some close games.

I think I might have to be the first person to officially dropout.

Don't get me wrong, I want to be a part of this but my problem is I decided to move my XBOX back to my home theater set up... far, far away from my cable modem and router.

Now I could still be in this league if somehow I can set up game times in advance, sorta like I tried awhile back where I listed the best times to play me for the whole week, but got no response.

I'll give it another try this week and if nothing goes I'll know I don't have a compatible schedule with the rest of the league.

BEST TIMES TO CHALLENGE ME (in advance through email or this thread):

SUNDAY & MONDAY Between 10PM and 1AM EST.
TUESDAY - THURSDAY Between 12AM and 2AM EST.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY - between 1AM and 2AM.

If other team owners could list there best times, maybe I could challenge you on your times in advance.

Tuesday, 1/7

I will be home all evening, from about 5:30 p.m. central on. If you want to play, email me at [email protected] and let me know what time you want to play. I'll make sure I'm on at that time (if I email you back). Thanks.

I do not think any ban should be in place. The proper way to counteract this is to take control of the punt returner before the play begins and have him get a headstart to where the ball is heading. If done correctly you will have plenty of time, it takes roughly 2-4 seconds between when the punter presses the a button and when the ball leaves his foot. You will catch the ball then and if he had a sharp angle put on it will be a short punt and a sizable return. Plus, if the poocher screws up and angles incorrectly it will only be a 20 or so yard punt. Let me know if that works for you SigTau.

I am on the players yet to play the game. I have been extremely busy with work and other things. I have not played any video games in weeks. I dont want to drop out, but If I cause any problems, I would be willing to do so. I will try and squeeze some games in.

I'll be on at 9 CST tonight. I'd like to get more games under my belt. That way my odds of actually winning may increase

My XBOX is "in the shop". I sent it in to get fixed on Wed Morning, so hopefully I should get it back early next week and be ready to get more games under my belt (or just get my butt kicked some more).
