i don't always get replies but i try to keep sentences short. no commas, no contractions. and a crappy present - esp. clothes they seem to like them and they're cheap/easy to find.

typically i go

I do that.. relatively easy and concise sentences and they come back with "your the worst writer ever.." etc.. I'll try it though. I sent them peaches and good stuff before.

My letters usually go something like this..

"Hi. You are a sexy beast. I want your hot body." I attach a piece of clothing, and so far I've gotten gifts in return every time

I'm starting to think there's no logic (other than maybe a keyword or two) behind letter writing. Case in point:
When trying to get rid of certain animals, I've wrote nasty letters, and received a nice reply with a present.
I've also wrote identical letters to 2 animals with different results.
Some animals beg for letters, so when you write to them you get a positive letter back.

Has anyone found spoiled turnips in the dump?
My girlfriend said they had ants and roaches, but she didn't try to catch them. So I'm wondering if you can catch ants (roaches I know) to give to the museum.

Finally, can you catch sardines? I've got a polar bear and that's all she ever talks about.

I write actual letters how I would write them and usually get a favorable response, except when you use really long words like "correspondance". I use plenty of commas and conjunctions and they don't have a problem with it. I also try to fill all the lines on the letter, unless it's to the museum.

I also try to mention stuff I know they're into. I ask my hungry lion about food, my sleepy bear if he's tired, talk to my stuck up squirrel about fashion and decorating, etc. Try just writing a real letter that's interesting instead of one that had the right code words and you might be surprised.

I've invited animals over to house-warming parties, bragged to them about my clean sweep at the raffle, told other animals not to trust this one who ripped me off in a deal... just write to em as if they were real.

My clock is correct. Is my game screwed up? I'm getting really pissed that these people never show up to town even though I get letters that they are coming.
Redd doesn't necessarily show up in the area that has the sign. he can show up anywhere.

Turnips are before 12 noon on Sunday, 6 am to 12 I think. Be sure to check with Officer Copper, he'll tell you where they've been spotted.

I had a turnip heart attack on Sunday. I didn't have any cash on me at the time(because NOok was ****ing closed for some stupid reason, a remodel I think), and so I didn't buy any turnips.

The next day he was offerint 928 bells for each.

Ok. I have finally gotten another fruit to grow in my town (pears!). I have a question before I shake it to get the pears. Will this tree keep making them or do I have to keep planting them? I am not noticing if fruit trees get their fruit back after a couple of days.

Also, I went into the chicken's house in my town and he has a fish that I have never seen! ARGH!!!

Well back to the game

Sam

It takes three days for fruits to grow back. This is why I visit the island every three days so that I can ensure that I fill my islander to the max.

Thanks for the quick answer! :-) I didn't want to pick the pears and then have no more coming. I guess this means I can just chop down other trees and plant the pears there to get more in addition to the tree I have. Can't wait until tomorrow! I shuld have a cherry tree as well

Redecorate of course.

I also move my big white pawn around my tiny room like I'm dancing. Since I only have the Animal Crossing Love Theme to play in my tape deck, it seemed appropriate.

Have you talked to all the townspeople today?

I shook trees and talked to townspeople.

Oh and I worked really late so I didn't have much time to play, but that was just a coincidence.

What are the benefits/purpose of having the GBA linked when going to the island? .. Basically.. what do I have to do on the GBA?

1. You need the GBA to go to the island.

2. On the island is a bungalow that you can decorate just like your house on the mainland plus another bungalow owned by an animal.

3. The islander's house is unfurnished, and they'll recruit you to help them out. Bring them the furniture you want and they'll reward you greatly.

4. When you leave the island, you have the option of uploading it to your GBA. This gives you a mini-game on the GBA where you can feed your island fruit, and he passes bags of money. There is big money in this. If you find your islanders favorite fruit, he'll ocassionally squeeze out 30,000 bell bags. He can do other things for you as well, such as fetching floating goodies (if you leave him a net).

Seems that this portion (GBA) and other portions, such as design your own pattern aren't as informative as they should be. Some instruction should be given as to what should occur, how to use and so on. But thanks for the help. I look forward every night to going home and seeing whats new. Hoping for once I get a good letter in return. 2 people moved into town in 2 days.. so I'm happy. Even though they aren't very nice.

#'s 2 and 3 are only available in one tree per village per day (i think?)
the money bags are in several trees.

catch the side note: catch the bees with your net and i think they're worth 8,000 bells (?) i don't have a net yet, so i can't tell ya exactly. otherwise, you end up with a sting on your face that goes away and doesn't harm gameplay

oh yeah - if you have the shovel, you can dig up a money bag with 1,000 bells. once you have it, you can plant it back into the same spot to grow a money tree? i jsut did this for the first time yesterday, but there is something regarding this sorry i couldn't be of more help.
The bee hives and the furniture can happen multiple times. I don't know how or why, but I know that I definitely got bees like 5 times already and it is only my second day. I caught the bees once and Nook gave me 4500 bells. I got two pieces of furniture today.

I go to the wishing well and ask how the town looks. If I'm "perfect", I fish, shake trees and harass my chipmunk.

My islander ask for stuff and yesterday I actually had the item they wanted back in my house so I went back and got it. But, when I went back to the island the animal didn't have an option like "Here's a xxxxxx" when you get stuff for animals in the town. How am I supposed to give it to them? I tried droping it on the ground but they didn't pick it up. Also how do you give them a fishing pole and net?

My wife and I have bugs (or something) in our houses. What are they and what do you do about them. I'd try to catch 'em, but you can't use your net indoors.

Most likely cockroaches move your furniture and step on them. Supposidly they show up when you haven't been there for a while, but I don't know what the timeframe is.

You can also try and catch them - I found one on a tree and gave it to the museum. Still trying to find that bee though...too bad you can't catch the ones that come out of the hives
