GBA Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

I played this a little more. It's definitely an improvement of COTM, which is saying a lot.
It's easier to see, and I greatly prefer the Magic system to the Card system. It's easier to use, I like how it ties in to the sub weapons, and hopefully the spells will continue to be usefull. I only used maybe 3 or 4 spells on a regular basis in COTM. Most of them were fairly useless.

I'm about 75% complete on the map and I'm loving this game. Considering how frustrating COTM could be, the new save system is terrific. The difficulty being easier does make it more fun to just explore. In COTM you had to always be close to a save point, because it was so easy to be killed. This game lets you explore pretty freely, because you don't have to worry about losing everything you've collected if you die outside a save room.
The backgrounds and colors are excellent. I have an afterburner on my GBA, but I tried it on a regular non backlight screen and its still easy to play and see what you are doing.
Props to Konami on this one. I hope they keep Castlevania in 2D in the future.
