Well...the first 2 were pretty funny. I enjoyed the fact that Mister Crabs was pretty much the main character in both. I recorded them, and my kids not only watched it Friday night, but at least 3 more times during the weekend.
Looking forward to the next 18 new ones!

Is it wrong for me to like Spongebob?
Is there something wrong with me that I like this show?
I think some of it is very funny with some great jokes and fourth wall humour
I got Season 1 recently on DVD and the "Ripped Pants" episode reminded me of The Simpsons episode Bart Gets Famous (I have the song in my head!
) , I also liked the Pizza Delivery episode of Spongebob and the use of the, almost Morricone-like spaghetti Western music in the Pickles episode, and the underlying commentary about too much restaurant choice (on second thoughts am I reading too much into this?
), when the guy takes ages to decide on his order and just annoys Squidward.
The episodes with Plankton are hilarious and I loved the Batman-type spoofery of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy
Thinking about getting Season 2 now.

I think one of my favorite gags is when Spongebob and Patrick were warming themselves by a fire. Few seconds of peacefulness. Then, "How do we have a fire here?" *poof* fire doused. Very reminiscent of the old Looney Tunes cartoons where you don't know you're going to fall off the cliff till you look down.
I enjoy Spongebob as well. It's definitely one of a bare few cartoons that can be watched and enjoyed by both kids and adults. Then again, I generally like cartoons/animation more than live action anyway, esp. the current offerings on TV. I'm debating between getting the Duckman set or the Powerpuff girls set. I haven't gotten Spongebob yet because A) I didn't like the "season 2 part 2" things they were doing, and B) at the time we had cable, and Spongebob was on pretty often.

Dude, I love Spongebob. I usually only watch it with my kids but if I see there is going to be new episode i'll tivo it and watch it by myself.
I love a lot of Nick shows, I'm a huge Danny Phantom fan, love Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron and that puppet show about the two kids that work at the burger joint. And I won't even get into all the shows on Cartoon Network that I love. I'm probably not helping you feel better about liking the show though.
I wish Nick would get on the ball with their season sets the way Cartoon Network, other than spongebob we haven't gotten a lot of sets.

I'd like to watch it but my son typically kicks me out of the room as soon as the show starts.

The Opposite Day episode was hilarious and had me in stitches

F is for Fire that burns down the whole town
U is for Uranium....... BOMBS!
N is for No Survivors

Is there any reason why the pilot episode isnt on DVD? I got the R1 as I read the US set of S1 had the pilot but it doesn't.

I remember seeing an episode where Spongebob was watching a TV show with starfish and staring agasp at them. Then there was a knock at the door, he became startled, pulled up his pants, and answered the door.
Kids just can't get it all the way we do.

I admit to getting in late on SpongeBob, having only recently started watching it now that my kids started getting into it, and I find a lot of it absolutely hilarious. There are been a few times where my boys ask me to leave the room because they can't hear the TV over my laughter
