Does anybody else like this cartoon as much as I do? I have really gotten hooked on it. It kind of reminds me of Ren and Stimpy. I was laughing my arse off yesterday at the Hooked episode.

darkside 03-26-01 02:40 PM

Its my favorite cartoon. I even bought the cheeze nips shapped like Sponge Bob. :) Very cool cartoon and it does have a Ren and Stimpy feel to it, though its not as gross.

Gizmo 03-26-01 05:28 PM

His laugh annoys me...lol

Goblincat 03-28-01 09:40 AM

I didn't know much about him until last year when I got a free SpongeBob t-shirt off the net.

It's a great show.

The "karate" episode cracks me up everytime I see it. What a great show. I think I like it more than my 2-year old daughter.

I laughed my arse off at the karate episode, especially when Spongebob was making those sandwiches.

Question about Spongebob Squarepants

If the show takes place underwater how can there be a beach and a lake? Is it some kind of heavy water or slime or what?

freedexter 08-30-02 10:47 PM

As a general rule of thumb, you should never take a cartoon seriously. Most cartoons are very inconsistent, if you think about it, and Spongebob is no exception.

Just enjoy it. :)

Oh thats a cheap way out! :)

Nickelodeon has something against the laws of nature.

One of my big problems with Jimmy Neutron was the fact that children, being led by one genius, took only 1 day to create numerous warp speed space ships from the local attractions at an amusement park and then went to a (very) distant planet to find their parents and rescue them from a society based on eggs... all without the use of a oxygen equipted breathing appiratous.

Now you explain that to me, and I will gladly share with you the secrets of "Bikini Bottoms"...

Whoops, I'm late for my "Living in Reality" therapy session. Tonight's topic is "You can never visit Eternia... because its just not there!" Last weeks topic was cool too... "Call me Terry: The truth about Hulk Hogan."

I actually saw some nature program where there were pools of water on the bed of some other body of water that had a different salinity or something. I always assume this is the case whenever there at the beach. Although, I'm not sure I've ever seen characters swimming or surfing? If not, maybe they're just at designated parks.

Somebody the other day brought up the question.at work...If Bob is a sponge, why doesnt he float?

I've never watched the show, so I cannot begin to answer that question.

Well, he's shaped like a household sponge but is actually the type of sponge that is a sea creature. His look is kind of a play on the name of the animal.

As for the beach they go to, they call it Goo Lagoon in one episode so I always assumed that it wasn't water at all, but rather some slimey goo that is sitting on the bottom of the ocean.

Oh and another thing.....

IT'S A CARTOON PEOPLE!!!! If you've ever seen a cartoon before you know the laws of nature often don't apply to them and neither does rational thinking. Check your mind and have some fun with it.

Song in Spongebob squarepants episode

Okay, this might sound kinda strange but there was a song that was played in an episode of spongebob squarepants that I am looking for. The episode was called "BAND GEEKS" and the name of the song lyrics were about winners or something like that. Its kinda catchy and I have no idea where to find out who sang it or where I can get it. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

"Sweet Victory" (from the episode "Band Geeks")

The winner takes all. It's the thrill of one more kill.
The last one to fall will never sacrifice their will.
Don't ever look back on the wind closing in.
The only attack were their wings on the wind.
Oh, the daydream begins....

And it's sweet, sweet, sweet victory, yeah.
And it's ours for the taking, it's ours for the fight,
In the sweet, sweet, sweet victory, yeah.
And the world is ours to follow
Sweet, sweet, sweet victory. (fade)

Some people have too much time on their hands...

joshd2012 04-22-03 12:38 AM

My favorite episode... that song makes it so.

Gasspasser 04-22-03 08:03 AM

okay, now where can I get the full version of the song? Does it exist?

freedexter 04-22-03 04:47 PM

This is all that I could find:

The singer of 'Sweet Victory' is a guy named David Glen Eisley, who fronted a band called 'Giuffria' and later went on to do solo projects. I'm not sure if the song appears on any of those albums or was specially produced for 'Spongebob', but there is a discography at davidgleneisley.com. Have a look!
Link.

That's disappointing. I always thought it was a cover of some song, which would make a great obscure reference, but it looks like it was made just for the episode.

Mopower 04-22-03 07:13 PM

Ha, that episode and the song is great.

SpongeBob / Pantera question

Hello Bikini Bottom dwellers... I did a search but didn't find anything here so I'm asking: Which SpongeBob episode features a Pantera song, "Pre-Hibernation" I believe it's called? And is it on DVD yet?

Nickelodeon Reanimates 'SpongeBob' For 20 New Episodes

http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve...797|1|,00.html

(Thursday, September 23 09:42 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The most-loved sea sponge in TV history is set to return to his Bikini Bottom home next year.

Nickelodeon says it's ordered 20 new episodes of "SpongeBob SquarePants," extending the run of its most popular kids' show for at least another year. The new episodes will debut in 2005, on the heels of November's "SpongeBob SquarePants Movie."

"What could be better than announcing that the world's most beloved and optimistic sea sponge is coming back with 20 new episodes?" Nickelodeon president Cyra Zarghami says. "SpongeBob is the most successful property in our 25-year history, and we're thrilled to bring his fans more adventures from Bikini Bottom."

Series creator Stephen Hillenburg is executive producing the new episodes, with writer and director Paul Tibbitt handling day-to-day production. The new shows will bring the series' total to 80 episodes.

"SpongeBob" was the top-rated kids show on television for nearly three years, from July 2001 to March 2004. It's regularly among the top 15 shows on basic cable, often placing multiple episodes in the rankings.

Nickelodeon says about 60 million people watch the show each month -- nearly half of them adults.

Yeeaaahhh!

Chris
