The world needs a Ding Chavez/Mike November spinoff show.

Done and dusted. A lot happens in these eps. Could have been spread out over eight, but we only got six.

Chavez is a beast. Mike’s got some competition.

And the books on the desks…
Spoiler:
yup, they were the ciphers.

But I’m still struggling with the continuity of using different books in different shots… even at the end when the big bad is handed one.

Oh well.

If Amazon and John Krazinski want to take a break and then do a few series in the political sphere, I’d be okay with it.

I didn't start watching this show until my son recommended it to me about a month ago, and I've binged all 4 seasons. Wow, what a ride. Krazinski really sells it.

Also, I kept waiting for Okieriete Onaodowan to break into song as Hercules Mulligan.

Jack's speech at the hearing was badass.

Do a spinoff with everyone in the team photo! I liked how they left it open for him to return.

This was a much better season than last one, IMHO.

I thought S3 was strong (S2 was the "letdown" for me), but I agree this season was the best of the 4.

This was a fun season. Episodes 4 and 5 really went all in on the intense action.

I love Michael Peńa but I think he was miscast as Chavez. He was still a badass character and should have been introduced into the series about 3 season ago.

It’s too bad this was the final season because these 6 episodes flew by in a heartbeat.

Re: Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (Amazon) - Season 4 - The Final Season - premieres 6/30/23

I finished episodes 3-6 today. Overall, a good season and rather than just trying to wrap everything up in a nice tidy bow, they left things sorta open to maybe do it again in a few years? Maybe as a movie?

I liked that the action really picked up in the last few episodes. The scene at US and Mexico border was pretty tense. I loved Mike November this season. Loved that he doesn't give a fuck and he's kind of a dick. Hangs out at whore houses and bath houses. That's my kind of CIA consultant. "I took being let go by the CIA hard." BTW, Michael Kelly is on the new Zoe Saldana military action show Lioness on Paramount + Funny how he's kind of typecast in military themed shows.

Glad after being out for 2 seasons, they were able to bring back Cathy and give her a substantial plot. Greer was pretty badass this season as well.

Re: Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (Amazon) - Season 4 - The Final Season - premieres 6/30/23

I agree this was much improved over season 3. Possibly the best of the set. I also think it’s a great idea if they took a 4-5 year break and then revisit the character with a different angle.

I did feel like I missed something though. I was really confused between episodes 4 and 5. I felt like I missed something a d went to check we hadn’t skipped an episode. We didn’t, but I definitely missed some plotting and the big bad lady motive. Between that, the convenience of having Kathy there as backup bait (?), just felt rushed and the off. Like how did they lady know Jack was going to be involved and there. Also, the adjustment of the main guy on the Aisian gang side felt odd. Like all of a sudden everybody knows he’s good, and mole and trustworthy?

Generally enjoyed the series, but felt it was a little too GI Ryan. For instance - he gets off the plane in the same bloody clothing and seeming lack of medical treatment for the institutes. Then next thing you know he’s in a shootout and climbing all over the place? Dude would seriously be in hospital for burns and possible infection.

Still, would be open to more with the franchise.

Yeah like Mike November had an in and out gunshot wound near his shoulder and he was going all Rambo like nothing was hurting. Ryan would have had some severe burns on his back from the salt being dumped on.

The whole season is essentially a loose adaptation of Clear and Present Danger. Really enjoyed it and hope they get the crew back together for another show or movie set in this universe.

Did anyone notice that Chavez was listed as a former member of Rainbow. Any chance Michael Peńa shows up in Rainbow Six, but with the Chavez & Clark dynamic reversed?

Looks like the "bad guys" might be getting some ideas from the show:

Wasn't that also the inciting incident during the opening scene of Sicario: Day of the Soldado?
