A coworker informed me of Conroy's passing while I was at work. Really sad news. 66 is too young.

This one hit me hard. I lost interest in posting to this forum years ago but I wanted to say something. I lost interest in paying for autographs from celebs at comic cons years ago, but for some reason this year I said to myself that I wanted to meet Kevin Conroy finally. Then, I found out he was forced to cancel due to illness. That was two months ago.
Just like when Adam West and Chris Reeve passed it does not seem like they could have ever died. It’s also kind of strange to think that the two iconic actors to play Batman on TV(one in animated one in live action) both died within five years of each other. It’s also weird how Kevin Conroy did at 66, which is the same year the Batman TV series debuted.
RIP Kevin Conroy. You were Batman to multiple generations and your legacy will endure.

Animated seres is the GOAT, and pair that with the Arkham video games, and that is the best representation of Batman.
The definitive Batman and it isnt close.

Looks like his last credited role related to Batman is as Thomas Wayne in Batman: Caped Crusader if/when that comes out. Last time he played Batman in a proper DC film is Justice League vs the Fatal Five from 2019. Never got around to watching that one so maybe I will sometime soon.

Even the Empire State Building paid tribute to Kevin Conroy.
Edit: guess this wasn’t actually done but a photo shop someone tweeted out that they retweeted.

Watched Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker tonight. Both great even though I have to give the edge to Mask of the Phantasm personally as it’s just a classic and one of the best Batman stories ever.

I just watched the Killing Joke last night since it was on Netflix. Is there any type of order the movies or tv series need to be watch in or is each piece pretty much self contained? I figure I may get HBO Max more a month or so if they have a Black Friday special so I will eventually check the others out.

The movie Batman and Harley Quinn also kind of fits into those shows too but came much later and has a different tone (more adult).
Those movies don’t necessarily take place in a certain order in relation to the series (the continuity is fairly loose). Mask of the Phantasm is more towards the beginning. Sub-Zero is later when Robin shows up. Mystery of the Batwoman is more in the style of The New Batman Adventures.
Return of the Joker is spawned from Batman Beyond which is canon with the previous two shows but takes place in the future where Bruce Wayne is an old man and there’s a new Batman under his wing.
The rest of the films are largely stand-alone and Conroy only did a handful of them.

Conroy also appeared as an alternate universe "Batman" on the CW in live-action as part of their Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover.

I hadn't realized that Kevin had made onscreen appearances in a lot of shows before. I figured he was just a voice only actor. It is funny now looking on Youtube and seeing his on screen appearances. He looked a lot different in his earlier appearances. He had aged into a more rugged look in his later life.

I was really saddened by this news. Just seemed very sudden. It does make me happy to see how many other people were affected by his work.
I imagine he and Adam West are sitting around the TV watching reruns of the Gray Ghost.
