Re: Stranger Things (S4E07) -- "Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab"
Haven't commented on this season yet, so here goes.
I'm not sure that Will is in love with Mike - especially since they've been apart for, what, 6 months or so... but Will is definitely gay. I think they made it obvious. And I wouldn't be shocked if the actor playing Will is gay in real life too. And what's with the bowl cut? No way a 15 year old kid with friends would be going to high school with that hair.
The actress who plays Nancy's gotta have an eating disorder. She was always thin, but she looks anorexic now - especially in interviews.
Hopper in Russia was a total waste of time. It felt like a side mission used to simply bump up the shows running time.
Sadie Sink is the best actor on the show. She was wonderful in the 4th episode and made that great ending even better.

This is what happens when you have no money so the neighbour next door, whose only claim to hairstyling fame is that she own's three scissors, cut your hair.

Will's character has been pointless ever since he escaped the upside-down in S1.

Will's role in season 2 was pretty significant as "the spy" since he was kinda possessed by the flayer or whatever they were calling it then. A lot of the action--especially in the later episodes--hinged on that. Season 3 his role was pretty limited, though.

I was surprised to hear that part 2 will only be two episodes:
- 1 hour, 20 minutes
- 2 hours, 20 minutes

Something funny/sad I saw elsewhere: In season 3, they make a big deal of how Will wants to keep the DnD group going, but the other boys are losing interest since they have girlfriends. Then Will moves away and, in season 4 we find that Mike, Dustin, and Lucas have joined a weekly DnD group in high school.
Poor Will.

And they forgot his birthday.

(Though I read that they retroactively realized their birthday mistake and changed the date in the S1 episode).

Just finished this for the second time and noticed how much the scene with 001 explaining everything to 011 reminded me of the scene in Watchmen when Dr. Manhattan was explaining his creation. Even the music sounded the same. Plus they both reference clocks.

I'm hoping they use the next couple episodes to pare down the cast a little. I think a lot of the complaints about usefulness/pointlessness are because the cast is simply too large now. I just want Robin and Steve to make it, but given that most of the others are children and I don't think they'll off kids, things don't look great for my favorites if they go that route.

Finally was able to watch up to this point.
I thought it was fairly obvious that the orderly would probably end up being #1 from whichever episode they mentioned #1. The orderly had too much screen time, so I knew he'd end up being somewhat important.
How is Eddie so clean shaven? I guess he still found the time to keep up his grooming habits while being on the run for a few days now.
